Hi, I have two xbox one's, one in my daughters bedroom and the other in the living room, we both have our own accounts on our systems but on my xbox it say's she's offline and on hers I'm online in the friends list, is there a way to configure the router (which is a Netgear WNDR3400) so that both xbox one's are online together?
    Thankyou for any help

If she can see you online in her friends list you both are in fact online. She's probably set her status to offline. I'm not sure how it is with the XBONE, but the 360 allows you to change the option in the profile menu (I think)

that's what I thought, but I checked and she is set for online, the thing is we both seem to be connected because we can both go to the online store and other things, but we can't play online together? it's strange, for example she want's me to play minecraft and enter her world that she made up, but I can't see her world to enter or get an invite from her, now one thing that pops up on my xbox one everytime I go to play it asks me for a gold live, does this mean that not only do I have to buy live for her xbox but I have to buy a separate one for mine?

I'm assuming that, like the 360, Gold is applied to individual user accounts only. That means each individual account requires a separate Gold subscription if you want to initiate online play. That would at least explain why you can't connect to her online games and why you are getting prompts to get Gold. I'm not entirely certain why she would be showing up as offline on your friend's list, but if you can both connect to the internet and be logged in, it shouldn't be a major issue.

yes it's strange that she's not showing up online on the friends list, but I am on her system, so I guess I will have to get a gold card for my system as well then, I thought maybe our xbox one's were clashing with the router or internet that's why she was not showing as online on mine.

No. The Xbox one requires one profile with gold saved onto the console. As long as one profile is gold, the rest can go online and play online without gold.

You can also game share and DLC share with a second xbox one. Set her xbox with Your account as the home xbox. Set Your xbox as the home xbox with her account. Then any game you buy (and/or DLC) with your account she can play without having to log in with your account and vice versa. You can set a passkey or code to block her from buying stuff with your account. My brother and I have done this.

You can log on to a xbox 360, xbox one, smart glass and PC all at the same time with a single xbox profile aka gamertag. If just one of these is set to appear offline, then you will appear offline (inconsistently) on the xbox one.

ok so I set her xbox as my home and mine as her's, do we both have to be signed in on both console's for us to play online together?

You should be able to play online together as long as one of you have gold. I am gonna assume your the gold holder right? So you need to be signed on your xbox. And She on her own. As long as your account as the gold owner is saved on her's you should be good to go.

The home xbox thing, just shares the game and DLCs licenses. Doesn't have an in-packed on playing together. It just removes the need to buy games twice.
