2 New DS Chocobo Games

Square Enix announced 2 new DS games based on the Chocobo Series:

- Chocobo and the Magic Storybook : The Witch and the Girl and the Five Heroes
and
- Cid and Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon : Maze of Time DS+

(I miss the time when games had names like "Soccer" and "Pinball")

Both games should be out later this year in Japan, the first one is supposed to be a "Chocobo Adventure" (considering the name, it should be something like the first DS game), the second game is going to be a "dungeon RPG".

I loved Final Fantasy Fables Chocobo Tales and I'm sure these ones will be good too.

Sometimes, but I found Final Fantasy Fables Chocobo Tales very boring.

Very cool. I'll definitely be looking forward to the dungeon game. I enjoyed the Fables game, but it wasn't great -- looked great, but the mini-game thing wasn't all that. An FF-based dungeon crawler sounds like fun though, especially if they go with the same graphics engine as Fables.

The recent ones have been far better than the FF cash ins that they did on PSX. I remember a awful fighter & Chocobo Racing that was also horrid.

Not too sure what to make of this, I'd prefer it if they just spent time making NEW games but I'd doubt they'd stop these spin offs so I just hope that they are good. The last DS game was ok.

Try Chocobo Tales: Chocobo's dungeon on the wii, it's awesome. The Mystery dungeon one on the DS seems to be a remake of it.
