Instead of insulting me, TRY to prove me wrong by making a constructive argument. The "exploits", are called that instead of "flaws" for a reason, that reason being that the end user will almost never experience them, unless they really go looking for them. What stability issues could they cause other than perhaps a VERY rare crash? Also, just because we have ntrboot, it doesn't mean that it's ok to completely seal off all other entrypoints to install CFW (there are about 4 I'm aware of that still work on 11.6, 3 are unreleased though). As for looking like a total tool, that's you, who jumps straight to insults rather than prove others wrong. Oh, and the ONLY kind of bricking that can happen without you messing up with the system is if an update is interrupted, in which case you have recovery mode to instantly fix it, meaning it's not really a brick. Again, prove what you said, post proof that optimization of the SYSTEM (NOT games) is done with the updates if you can. As I said, it's the GAMES that are optimized individually, NOT the system updates, but you ignored that point.

Let's see what a recent update brought with it for example: https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/11.6.0-39 We got the patch for SwapDoodle (for a bug that is impossible to encounter unless you mess with the files) and a new error message, that's it! Find PROOF of what you say and prove others wrong if you want to make a compelling case.

There is when someone who clearly doesn't understand how software works trys to correct you about it.....
The one who doesn't understand is YOU, there's no magic involved. Things don't suddenly start running with magic spells, there's something called CODE running. So find the code that proves your case (btw, to save you time I'll tell you now that it doesn't exist) and then try to play the smart guy.

You are dumber than I thought..... the code has had many stability improvements. Obviously. You want an example the theme cache bug that was used for themehax was actually a very big issue for many user the bug was known to haunt boot of devices with damaged theme data which could occur on a number of ways on retail devices including but not limited to a failed installation from the store. Luckily this flaw was beneficial for the hacking scene and generally possible to resolve without data loss but things like that cab and do happen all the time. They don't pay there developers only for security fixes they pay them to make the damn thing work even in those rare cases as you put them. Retail devices bricking is nothing new. Look at the PS3 update 4.45. It accidently bricked a wide range of consoles do to a mistake on Sony's part. These users were not using modified devices or "trying" to find a problem but they sure did. As for sealing up entry points I never said that. I said since the system already is hacked and updates can't fix the software the hack relies on there is absolutely no need to stay on an older firmware. And as for the private exploits I am certain there are some but they are entirely useless to the scene for the time being. They are better left until the device is no longer sold. That being said once already exploited those flaws serve only the purpose of crashing your system. And furthermore the simple fact is that these updates are not simply there to fix security they are also done to improve user experience. Issues big and small are often addressed in these stability updates. Just because some of said bugs can benefit the scene doesn't mean they aren't bugs in the software.

They have tons to patch but regardless of what they fix/patch the system will remain hack able through NTRBoot and b9s. Both of which rely on a piece of software that can't be fixed so the 3DS could see a dozen new updates and it wouldn't change anything especially this late in the devices life since At this point a new hardware revision with a new bootrom is highly unlikely to show up.
they cant patch ntrboot they would have to release new hardware

Why a new update
If they really wanted to update
They would need to patch ntrboothax
But heh
It’s a bootrom exploit
So no patching
So no update

OP, you posted this the same day I posted my seedminer launch thread and it scared the hell out of me.
Just wanted you to know that. :P
Shameless plug?:P And to be honest, I saw your thread first, then this and thought it would be related too...
