Did they tell you that it's temp ban, or it's just what you say? Other person was told that it's perma.
I called and told them I bought the new Pokémon game for my son from a local retailer and now it does not work online. they said that the game was not authorized to be distributed at time of purchase, the ban is only temporary. they didon't not say length but it's temp

Very strong reaction to permanently ban just for playing a game early. Leaks happen all the time, broken street dates, etc--too harsh for what could be legitimate customers.

People that stole the game and say in theyr face "hey I'm playing your game before you want me to". Yes, strong reaction. (see the sarcasm?).

Banning ALL online services including the access to your eshop account to redownload games you already bought for playing a game a week before release even if you got a review copy or were lucky and your retailer sold it early to you is absolutely to much.

And denying access to online servers on games to pirates I understand BUT WHY block the eshop? What if a pirate wants to buy a game for once? Now they are kinda forcing them so pirate it.

And is it even legal to deny access to the content you bought?
If it's a hard copy,no
And if it's a physical copy yes?
That is just plain stupid.
So if pirates want to redownload a game they already bought they have to do it illegally.

Seriously. I see no point in blocking the eshop. Accessing online functions for in game stuff, yes but the eshop?

And blocking ALL games permanently for playing a game before release even if you own the copy is really really harsh.

You know you can redownload some stuff you have install by a cia, like the legit ones, right?

Without the access to the eshop you cannot redownload stuff as far as I am concerned without any hacks. So Nintendo is encouraging people to redownload (or rather reinstall. I have a cia backups of all my eshop games that I created through.... Argh what was it called... Goofy cia 2 or something like that) their stuff through haxes and exploring the homebrew scene more deeply if you have not fully explored everything yet.

Denying eshop access just does not make sense to me. Perhaps I am missing something

I just spoke with Nintendo about error code 002-0102 and they said they are taking the use of pirated games very seriously and all systems that recieve this code are permanently banned

So my question: is there a way to truly un-ban the system? I see lots of threads that say yes and lots that say no

Could they have slipped something into the S/M code that detects a pirate version of the game? Nintendo seems pretty confident about this pirate banwave and they shouldn't be, considering playing the game early could've been an honest mistake. I didn't get banned because I knew the high risk of going online with a leaked unreleased game, but I'm thinking that maybe we're not safe even after release with legit .cias if they've somehow slipped something into the code.

Someone more knowledgeable than me could confirm whether this is possible?

Some people are saying its the version code that was cleared to 0 instead of the real version code. The version code is most likely being sent to Nintendo when the game connects to the server, what is also being sent is most likely the 3DSs info maybe serial number and some other keys.

Bought legit copies this morning, version code is 0, for Sun at least. I haven't checked my copy of Moon.

Don't you ever know a Chinese pirate insulted Masuda in Twitter?
This is a revenge requested by the anti-the-Chinese-guy people about this.

Most people say it due to the version code, but can't they think that Nintendo log all the console that access their server? Sure some reviewer may accident went online, but a sudden spike in traffic before the game is release? They know you pirated the game, went online with it, that why the mass ban mostly hit people who have hacked their 3ds

Is there anyone technically discuss about 022-2812?
For informations I gathered:
1. The guys who got 022-2812 could not access anything required NNID, including e-shop access, etc.
2. Formatting NAND, which wipes out your NNID data stored inside the NAND, makes you available to access e-shop again (of course without NNID). But it also makes you unable to access NNID configuration in System Settings.
From these informations above, I think 002-2812 should be a NNID ban + a NNID registration/configuration ban of that specific console.

(Edit)
Already more information here.
