    Hacking System Menu 4.0 Auto-Installer++

    Ok, makes sense. IOS60 installed fine for me. I just need to figure out how to play Animal Crossing since it is requesting an update. I have IOS38 installed, and Wii Speak is working correctly. Should I just let the game update?

    Hacking System Menu 4.0 Auto-Installer++

    I just used this and everything seemed to install correctly, it says I'm on 4.0 and everything. However, when I test the connection it says I still need to update (is this normal?) Also, Animal Crossing: City Folk is saying I need to update, even though the Wii Speak Channel is working fine.

    Hacking banner brick free of charge repaired by nintendo

    Nintendo isn't stupid, they know what you did to the Wii and decide to fix it anyway. They don't have to, they could say you tampered with the software and thus voided your warranty. So props to Nintendo for spending the money to fix something that isn't their fault. Meanwhile, we'll keep...

    Hacking wii backupd

    Not sure how you can miss it... note the threads with "Backup Launcher"? Follow this guide: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=105670 But use this loader: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=107074 Con is limited compatibility, although it's improving quite fast. As well as 3x speed...

    Hacking homebrew channel questions

    I was worried about installing it as well, but once I did I regretted not doing it sooner. Not having to do the Twilight Hack every time I want to run an emulator is very nice.

    Yes, you still have to do it. You can use the same tool, however.

    Hacking Backup Launcher by Wiigator

    Looks like "Backup Launcher 0.1" it is. Hopefully the mods will take care of the various threads that are confusing this with Gecko OS.

    Hacking Backup Launcher by Wiigator

    I recommend the mods delete/rename any thread with "GECKO OS BACKUP" or any of that nonsense, since it makes it seem like it's a new Gecko OS version that supports piracy, which the creators don't.

    Hacking How do i find my wii's adress for ftp connection

    Yeah, that'd work. Then in your FTP client put in that IP address and connect, you don't need a username/password unless you set one manually.

    Why would you want the Japanese Mega Man 9 to begin with? It sounds like you already have the US version.

    Hacking Why NOT to buy an R4DS!

    It makes no sense to get an R4 now, but there's no compelling reason to get a different flash card if you already own an R4; in my opinion at least.

    They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

    It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    @SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

    Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

  • cearp @ cearp:
    @BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
    You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
    still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
    i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
    It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
