    Something I always do when I get a new gadget, I don't plug the charger into the device, I turn on the charger first on its own. If it somehow blows up, nothing happens to the device. 😬

    With all the new Machine Learning models to generate fake images, the whole influx of demands to be "opt-out" of models and "noai" labels to hosted images is honestly immensely stupid. You can't be serious if you're telling me people with malicious intent will respect your wishes not to be included in their AI tool.

    Yeah I was more talking about the use in the art world. I wasn't realizing you were talking in the context of deepfake, which iirc deepfake software ignores the tags even today

    Kinda off topic, but when I get a better PC, I wanna mess around with trying to make an AI model of my voice, I think being able to dub stuff in foreign languages with my own voice would be sick

    Bethesda released a statement regarding the Mick Gordon controversy today after he exposed everything that happened. They've decided to flat out deny all of it. Bold strategy, we'll see how it plays out for them.

    After the bayonetta controversy I think it's good to be skeptical when you only hear one side of a dispute, but this response kind of seems in line with Mick's characterization of them. Those "stand ready to disclose evidence" and "we will take swift action" statements sound like they're just threatening to sue everyone.

    But you never know. Maybe Mick is being dishonest here? Drop that evidence Bethesda.

    We'll see, I'm more leaning towards Bethesda just spewing corporate nonsense. Mick's case and evidence is solid, if Bethesda now made these claims, they should provide better evidence.

    I know most intellectuals are pro nuclear power and all that. But I know that failure is inevitable. People say that the science has come far and they are now far safer to generate electricity, but I know humans enough to know that no scientist or genius is perfect. There is bound to be something missing or wrong at some point as proven in history forever. It's just too destructive to have trust in it.

    Reminds me of a video I recently watched of a Tesla Car's screen showing the AI used. It was driving behind a truck carrying a bunch of traffic lights at the back, a scenario no programmer could've seen coming, and the AI was going bonkers. In conclusion, you can't trust humans, and you definitely shouldn't trust them with something as dangerous as nuclear.

    As an app developer, I can now understand how bugs in general are very possible and likely. The main cause? You just don't give a shit. You have already coded in so much, the application is so large, you just focus on what you need to do now. When it comes to checking the result, you never really are thorough cause you can't be assed to look into every single thing. Now I know how important testers are.

    Or to make it even better, have all sort of checks and fallbacks for invalid data, until you realise it should never happen in the first place

    Build your data properly, and the bug wouldn't happen, and so you don't need to waste CPU cycles to test every possible condition if you know for sure the data you constructed IS exactly what should be expected, and not junk that could technically be encountered, but it definitely shouldn't even be possible unless you really went all the way to make it happen at all, haha!

    I can provide the best example of this observation: see my recent status updates, where I have been working on writing a music driver.
    More I get improvements done, and more I realise I have a lot of redundancy that shouldn't even be there, simply because I know I should never have invalid data in the first place.

    The only way I can install Sony and Nintendo apps on my Android phone is through APK websites, they're not in my country Play Store. And I'm thankful for that option, it's pretty cool.
