wiiflow. some video games do not appear on screen

Hi friends. I am doing a project with neo geo games on the wiiflow. I have entered the entire catalog of neo geo arcade and I have encountered a problem. All the games that I put in the different folders appear but surprisingly no super sideckiks appear in Wiiflow, neither one, nor two, nor three, nor four. That is to say, the games (I have tried from several websites) are put in the corresponding folders but later when I open Wiiflow on the TV they are missing. I hit the reload cache button. And I have verified that the game codes of these three games are not as magic numbers in the plugins, none of them match. What is the problem? say that this also happens to me with some ps1 games. I don't know very much about WiiFlow (since i don't use it, i don't own a Wii) but maybe it needs to be placed in a specific place the covers and other stuff?

Also, are you using the correct romset for your games?

Maybe @Tetsuo Shima, @RunningSnakes or @fledge68 can help with that... are you there?

There is a know issue of some titles not showing up but this is caused by the word "Disk or Disc" being part of the title. @chrondelta has a fix for that issue so maybe she can come up with a fix for this issue.

I just checked and all Super Sidekicks games are missing for me also. Ill see if i can figure out a solution.

The fix is to go to the file SD:\apps\wiiflow\wiiflow_lite.ini

Navigate to line that starts "filename_skip_regex=" and set it to:

filename_skip_regex=((dis[ck]|tape|side|track)[ _-]([b-l]|0*[2-9]|[1-9][0-9]))|(dis[ck])(0*[2-9]|[1-9][0-9])|(neogeo.zip)|(FUNBOOT.ROM)

(all one line)

I did not know your gender but now that i think of it, you have wrote him/her previously in another post. I was unsure what you meant at the time but now it is crystal clear

I was looking back at my ini and did notice this affects the word "side" as well. I am not using the line you posted here but an older line you made available some time ago. I take it this line is Better?

Yeah. Like i have said, it makes it so that if you want to to specify a disk/side/tape/whatever #n, you have to include some sort of spacer between the word and the label you use for the regex to successfully hide the file. Consequently, any games that actually have "Side 2" or some other such string in their title (such as NBA Courtside 2 ft. Kobe Bryant for N64), you can force the fileskip regex to pass over it by simply omitting the space between side and 2, so the rom ought be named "NBA Courtside2 Ft. Kobe Bryant.z64" or some such. The only exception to this is "disc2", which is a necessary fileskip inclusion because of multidisc GCN games (thought disc#/disk# skipping is more generous than that, i might change that second skip parameter to just be "disc2.iso" unless you know of any three or more disc GCN games?)

Curious, what PS1 games does this happen to?

I do not. I have around 470 GC titles and do not recall any 3 disc games. I think the largest GC game is Tom Clancy Chaos Theory and it is 2 discs.

I did a quick google search to verify and it seems all multi-disc GCN games are 2-disc, and no more.

I just applied the new line and confirm all Super Sidekicks games are now visible.

that has also been fixed the resident evil series problem. Thanks a lot. taking advantage of your kindness I would like to see Side by Side Special (Japan) and Side by Side Special 2000 (Japan) of ps1 on wiiflow, they don't appear to me either. thank you very much

I think i got it. Try

filename_skip_regex=((dis[ck]|tape|side|track)[ _-]([b-l][^a-z]|0*[2-9]|[1-9][0-9]))|(disc2\.iso)|(neogeo.zip)|(FUNBOOT.ROM)

I cleaned up one segment of the regex and then made another a bit more nuanced. Here's a demonstration of it working on regex101.com (note: regex101.com is case sensitive with its regex, but wiiflow lite's filename skip regex is NOT case sensitive).

If you want to test for yourself using regex101.com, only include the segement that comes after "filename_skip_regex=" and make sure to use all lowercase.

Please do post and share when you encounter other things, i would like to incorporate the regex fixes. The basic premise for my fix above was make it so if it looks for tape/track/side/disk/disc X, where X is any letter b-l, it also makes sure there's no additional letters immediately after said letter, because then that's a word and not an index.
