Hi i made a question once regarding the 3ds sometimes failing to read the sd card on boot and that i need to remove and insert the sd card several time until it picks up luma again. They mention something about formatting my sd card to fat 32 but with some type of kb/ blocks/ I don't even remember. All I know they told me that the SD card need to be formatted to a specific fat 32 format in order so that the 3ds can rea the SD card much better. Can anyone help me out?

Depends on the size of your card, if you got less than 128GB used FAT32 32kb cluster, if you got more 128GB or more use 64kb cluster, the higher the cluster the more space it would take up on the SD card but faster boot time.

That's probably going to break your slot and/or your SD card if you keep doing it. At this point you should probably consider getting a new SD card to be on the safe side. While the cluster size affects boot times, it shouldn't have anything to do with whether Luma is detected or not.

How big is your SD card?

Its okay maybe I said it doesn't detect luma but it actually does. no problem when reading the card just that sometime if I would install a theme sometimes the theme wont appear anymore after I boot my console and then the games would run but would take long to boot.... but anyways they told me that the reason for the cause its because it was the way the SD card was formatted but thanks so much for your concern. I really appreciate it

my card is a 64GB and also is there an app to do this? cause when formatting on the PC the only options I get are exFAT (default) and NTFS. I don't have the FAT32 option for my current SD card

Did someone else set up your card for you, or something? Because you wouldn't be able to use it if it wasn't already FAT32-formatted, and they definitely don't ship that way.

Anyway, yes, there are many, many guides on how to format your card.

But you probably shouldn't bother, because a card that is only 64 GB is too small to be affected by cluster-size problems.
