I wonder if that recent hack had anything to do with this or if it was just coincidence.

I'd guess it was the Steam Deck. SteamOS is Linux and an increasing number of people are now running Linux because of it. AMD has done a much better job supporting Linux and Nvidia can't risk losing that growing userbase.

Not enough for me to stop using AMD for dual boots, but it's nice to see them finally catch up with modern times.
