Hi. Recently I ex- and imported the NAND of my softmodded Wii to Dolphin to keep all my MIIs/progress. So far so good. I can play, everything is there.

However, in Dolphin if I click 'Tools' it shows me "Load Wii System Menu ?.?" It's possible to get to the Wii Menu and it shows me 4.1U (what I also have on my real softmodded Wii).
I can't update to 4.3U which I would want to do. I checked the NAND and it had failures which could be fixed. But if I click on "Perform Online System Update" it runs through but says "Could not install an update to the Wii system memory. Please refer to logs for more information." Hm. Which logs??

Here's the syscheck from my long time ago softmodded Wii...

Pics of syscheck in Dolphin attached. (I don't know where it saves the log files.)

How can I update to 4.3U or at least see my current version correctly in Dolphin?

Your softmods are a bit outdated, I suggest using modmii or Wii.guide to update your softmods. Also note there's no benefit to 4.3 over 4.1.

I'm not very familiar with dolphin, but you could always update to 4.3 on your wii using modmii, then make a new backup for use with dolphin. But again, 4.3 adds nothing over 4.1 except more (failed) attempts at preventing homebrew.

Thanks for the tip. Tried it today. Like you suggested I stayed at 4.1U. I don't have a problem with 4.1 it. I just have a problem that bootmi (also now after updating) shows me:

SysMenu: unknown boot1a boot2v2

Don't know what that means but it annoys me. Any more tips?

I believe using modmii to get WADs and installing 4.3 SysMenu WAD is enough for dolphin sysmenu to update.

I doubt the usual way of updating Wii from the settings would work on Dolphin. No point in going that way either since that gets rid of softmods anyway.

Anyway, getting bunch of WADs using Modmii and flashing them all is probably the best way to go. After you select correct versions, it will figure out which files are outdated and get you the most recent ones.

Like I said: I don't need 4.3 Don't want to reinstall a fresh 4.x on Dolphin, because I will loose my progress (Wii Sports) as well as all my editable Miis then. Don't want that.
About your tip: Sorry, I'm not so into this thing anymore. Last time I modded my Wii was 2011 and it was very "manually" and a long ride. Modmii didn't change anything as far as I can see.

Just found out that I also simply can't update my Priiloader nor start it (out of Homebrew or directly while powering up). If I start it from homebrew it just says:

"magicword is 4461636f
changed to 4461636f
resetting"

Wtf? What is going on here?? I can start Bootmi (on boot2) though but like I said, it shows unknown SysMenu. ...

Your syscheck shows you are on a custom system menu version, it's 4.1 but with the version number changed. To install priiloader you should install a stock system menu 4.1 or 4.2 or 4.3, and it's corresponding system menu IOS if not already installed (60, 70 and 80 respectively). Your syscheck shows u have these ios's already installed though. Once u install a stock syst menu version you'll be able to install priiloader (not currently installed btw according to your syscheck)

Just installing WADs on a preexisting NAND shouldn't cause any data loss. If anything, you could reimport your NAND if things go south..
