I recently gave my LANIX CRT. It's picture became distorted (I FUCKING SWEAR IS JUST THAT SPOT ON MY BEDROOM THAT MESSES CRT'S GEOMETRY
) and I didn't wanted to open it up for fixing.
Considering that I did stuck my hand on my SONY Trinitron, a puny 17" CRT shouldn't have been hard.
But once a CRT starts to have problems, they're rarely fixed just by setting up the yoke correctly once again. It could as well mean that Capacitors or Resistors or Diodes are dying and needs replacement (or even worse, parts that are no longer manufactured anywhere in the world but one ridiculous place) and that's expensive. So... I gave it to the security guard on my condo.
I also, at the same time, gave an HP Printer with Scanner that was going un-used and only bothered me as it occupied precious space where I now have books stored.
I was planning into turning it into a Light Table for tracing but upon second thought... I realized that I would never use it but ocassionally.
So it had to go.
Both, CRT and Printer were given with proper power and usb cables. The guy seemed happy, he mentioined he finally had something to sell in order to get food for his children.
That broke my heart and made me happy at the same time.
I also gave away an Acoustic Guitar that was just hindering my space and was pretty much getting on my nerves.
I still have yet to get rid of other stuff like metal cans that I was planning to use to burn wood and paper to make Ink, and plastic bottles that I don't know when, but it began with 1 and now they're 10 of them.
