First rule of building things and fixing things club is "I might need that later" is usually true, and never more so than 2 weeks to 3 months after you got rid of something.

To that end I don't expect I will be frequenting this thread.

Not really recently… The last thing I gave away is this Wii U with Haxchi, some game discs (nevertheless installed) and vWii modded. Also included a HDD for the Wii U games and a Wii compatible (at least for reading) USB drive that is so tiny it barley sticks out of the USB port. No, there is not a single game without valid license on there. Just made sure the laser gets used as little as possible.

I rarely sell things (and will probably not give away things anymore). Almost all things I don't want anymore are so worn that nobody else wants them either (not even talking about getting money for the things). Clothing for example gets repaired a few times and if repairing is not sensible anymore, it gets used dirt rag as its last service. Computers/electronics… I keep them way beyond their useful time and even after they break in my "private little museum". Furniture… why sell? Need it! Books? Selling for pennies just to have less of them? Same for CD/DVD/BD.

Nothing to sell here.

2 years ago, I gave my copy of pokemon y to a friend because I had no 3ds at the time and didn't think I would get another one
Giving away a Pokemon game doesn't sound very smart (unless it was a really good friend). Pokemon tend to gain value some years after release and some are hard to get.

It is the same bad Idea to give away:

- Classic LEGO from the 70s/80s
- Micky Mouse Magazines from the 70s/80s
- Cassettes with Radio Plays from the 70s/80s
- Toys from the 70s/80s

Giving away something often turns out to be a bad idea later.

I recently gave my LANIX CRT. It's picture became distorted (I FUCKING SWEAR IS JUST THAT SPOT ON MY BEDROOM THAT MESSES CRT'S GEOMETRY ) and I didn't wanted to open it up for fixing.

Considering that I did stuck my hand on my SONY Trinitron, a puny 17" CRT shouldn't have been hard.
But once a CRT starts to have problems, they're rarely fixed just by setting up the yoke correctly once again. It could as well mean that Capacitors or Resistors or Diodes are dying and needs replacement (or even worse, parts that are no longer manufactured anywhere in the world but one ridiculous place) and that's expensive. So... I gave it to the security guard on my condo.

I also, at the same time, gave an HP Printer with Scanner that was going un-used and only bothered me as it occupied precious space where I now have books stored.
I was planning into turning it into a Light Table for tracing but upon second thought... I realized that I would never use it but ocassionally.
So it had to go.

Both, CRT and Printer were given with proper power and usb cables. The guy seemed happy, he mentioined he finally had something to sell in order to get food for his children.
That broke my heart and made me happy at the same time.

I also gave away an Acoustic Guitar that was just hindering my space and was pretty much getting on my nerves.
I still have yet to get rid of other stuff like metal cans that I was planning to use to burn wood and paper to make Ink, and plastic bottles that I don't know when, but it began with 1 and now they're 10 of them.
