Hello.
So I have played stardew valley on PS Vita and I have a lot of progress there and now I have bought a switch and would like to move it to my switch.
I have pulled my save out of the Vita and loaded it on PC, then slept one night to update it to 1.5.4.
I then used a compression tool shared on this forum to compress one of the two files in the save directory.
Then i have tried checkpoint and JKSV to load the save into stardew, but none seem to work - the game does not detect the save.

So is there any way to get the save working for now?

Don't re-compress it. Put it on the Switch uncompressed. It'll load fine and the next time you save the Switch will automatically compress the file.

So I have tried to move it without compression and with the same result - the game just doesn't see the save. I have tried both Checkpoint and JKSV but both don't work. Any clues what to try next?

Thank You so much for your suggestion, but sadly It didn't work. Maybe it has something to do with the save being ported from Vita in the first place

For the switch to recognize your save on the new version it now needs a startup_preference file.
You first need to create a brand new save on your switch in the game and then exit out of it.
Now go to your save manager and back that save up (with Checkpoint you need to press the R button).
Now go to your PC and access the SD card. Create a new folder in the Stardew Valley save folder.
Take the startup_preference file from the new save that you made on the switch in there. Create another folder in the folder where your startup_preference is and put your save files there (if you don't understand what I'm trying to say just look at the folder the game created and see how the files are arranged there).
The game should recognize your save now.

Just tried to do this today and every time I get an error and the game crashes. It has the startup_preference file in there.
