Hey there,

i have an idea about a Payload Injector. After searching in vain for a Dragoninjector because i really like the design, i thought about ways to replicate the function and design. And i got an idea. But it seems to easy so i wanna ask if im correct.

As a base i thought about using a RCM-X86 chip.

From the Install thread i concluded that id simply had to add a usb c plug where i only would have to connect D+, D- and GND. Also i would have to add a power source to 3V3 and GND and a Button to send the payload between the second last contact on the upper side of the pic and GND. Is this correct?? Also would there be any way to get the Power through the USB? In other words can i pull power out of the Switch through the USB Port?? Also i would have to install a Res switch between GND and the Contact right next to it right? To flash the Payloads as far as i understand it.

I was thinking of doing something of the same year ago, but then just broke down and got a V5 RCMLoader off ebay for $10, was easier to deal with and cheap too. Can flash whatever payloads to it also. Unless your thinking is to install inside the switch, or make a cartridge with it like DragonInjector, I don't see the point of messing with it.

Just be careful. You can't find a Dragoninjector because they were DMCA'd by Nintendo.

Sorry im not sure what Switchme is and a short search did not give me an answer. Trinket is just the board as far as i understand. I try to create a solution similar to the Dragoninjector. So a Payload injector that fits inside a Switch gamecard that in the best of cases does not need to be charged seperatly but gets its power from the usb of the switch.

Ok now I see. Good luck with it.

Yeah i know. i dont want to sell them or anything. I want to make one for myself. Cant see how that could cause me any problems.

So to make it more clear here my questions:

Is my conclusion right about the injector working that way in principle?

Can i flash the payloads by pluging it into my pc and pressing the res button twice?

Can i somehow get power through the usb plug or do i have to include a battery of sorts?

Also thought about installing a modchip, but im not comfortable with soldering on the switch boards itself. Its a bit too expensive to tinker with it just because of a minor inconvenience.

But even if what i plan to do is not as easy as i thought, ive got another little idea. The 3.3V in the Game Card Slot, are they powered in RCM mode? I could make an injector with a wire to a modified Gamecard to pull out the power from the gamecard slot. This way we would not be dependand on a Battery for the injector.

I dont like the idea of the RCM Injector that is sold commonly because of 2 main reasons. First the Size, i dont like the idea of carrying it around every time i take the switch out (yeah yeah, im very lazy) and secondly i fear of taking the Switch and the injector out just to see that the battery of the injector is empty.

That's why I said for a $10 RCMLoader, is alot easier and no worries of messing up your switch. Is always fun to tinker, but at what costs. Good luck with your project though either way.

If you have Auto-RCM enabled, you hardly ever need to use the jig, or payload injector. It will reboot to the hekate menu every time it reboots.
And the battery on the RCMLoader lasts long time, specs says over 100 payload boots per charge.
You can use that chip you listed as a payload injector, and make a small version like the RCMLoader, with a usb-c cable. Check that github page for example, but instead of soldering to switch, solder to usb-c cable.
