Hey I’ve been reading these posts and I would like to know if I need any soldering here?? Though I think i dont have any broken pins. Just want to know if i just have a faulty sd card reader or do i need to solder too?? Thnks
what kind of problem.you have first ?
what the console say when your sd card is inserted ?
test first with hekate => sd info/test , and see what it tells you.

some times the pins are good if you look at , but can be flimsy and about to move/break.

Thanks for the fast reply! Well, I was playing Hades in emummc atmosphere but suddenly my switch hang up and ended up with error code 2002-3502. I rebooted my Switch but came up with another error "Failed to initalize SD card". Tried booting up with hekate and then suddenly got an error that my SD-Card is initialized in 1-bit mode. Here’s the sd info in hekate.

meaning you have a loose pin/s , and when it seems all are in their place in the image you provided.
-if you have a multimeter : test the continuety of the pins one by one , how ?
by touching a pin and his test point (the two points in left of the connector)
for ground touch elsewhere (never tested this one )
- you can test with a needle , touch pin by pin ,not hard because you can break them , just to see if they or one of them are loose.

i think in this thread (or not ) ,some have the same problem , everything looks prestine ,but sd card not seated well.

finaly got it working, after the 2nd try ;)
it's a mess but the switch work again.
thank to the shema provided by @mattytrog in other thread.

i have never done this kind of tiny soldering before ,i was afread of loosing a my switch , but i got it working in 20mn from the switch unscrew to the happy final.

the switch was running (hekate) from the begining , i know it's not the normal procedure but i set it like that to test it really quick.

like i said before ,only with basic materials you can do it ;)

some photos :

I am in the same position do you have the wiring diagram?

I swear. Nintendo better ditch this flimsy flex approach in favor of the vastly superior Lite-esque soldered on one in the next model.

I'll wait for a teardown of the next model revison.
If it has this one they can keep it for themselves.

My V1 is now collecting dust, cause I don't feel like reflowing.
Good thing the Lite is a thing.

Good thing the Lite is a thing.

It mostly for people running cfw on their switch that they really need the sd card.

Thanks so I’m missing the green..

lucky for me I found a repair centre in the UK that say they can fix the connector for a small fee of £90

bit expensive, but imho you can find another mobile phone repaire or a small informatic repair too, and compare the prices.

but if you have no choise ,at least you found one.
one more thing at this price , a conector replacement is required , and not just a soldering wire.

lol if they only do the soldering jumper wire haha and not even bother using the hot air gun for this price

The main cause of a broken SD card connector on the motherboard is repeated insertion and ejection of the SD card.
There is a single screw that mounts the SD slot daughtercard to the motherboard. As that screw becomes loose, the board can wiggle, and that causes the cable connecting it to the motherboard to rub on the connector, damaging it.
To minimize this issue, try using the "Mount SD Card" option in Hekate rather than ejecting it. That allows you to access the Switch's SD card on a PC through the USB connection.
If you need to reseat the SD card board cable, tighten the screw that secures the board to the motherboard at the same time. It is the silver screw just to the left of the SD slot. A spot of hot glue to secure the board would also prevent it moving, but ideally you want to try to avoid removing the SD card at all and just mount it through Hekate instead.
