Hello every one
I run atmosphere with emunand but I have also a sysnad where I never used any nsp or homebrew
Can i play online on sysnand with physical/cartridge games i own without risking ban?
Thanks

Thanks for the answer, do i need to extract my sd card before playing online with sysnand?
And if i get banned anyway what do i lose: access to online and eshop? Can i still make fmw update?

What do you mean "extract sd card"? And what you lose depends on the ban. Only CDN bans block firmware updates for example but those are highly rare nowadays.

I am using CFW emunand with prodinfo removed and playing online with my clean sysnand using game carts that I owned. No ban as long as you keep both completely separated.

As for SD cards I do remove them just in case. Basically one for emunand and one for sysnand.

I see no issues with that, but I will say that actually my Nintendo Switch SD card molex connector became faulty. Not sure if for the same reason. It is extremely fragile and I had to replace it. I was doing the same thing as you, which is why I only use Software typically to extract to insert data on my SD card.

No need to remove the SD card, even if Nintendo did read the card to see if there was any files related to homebrew they couldn't ban you because it is not against the TOS to have them, just to run them.

I am also worried about wear and tear of the SD card slot because I regularly swap between android, cfw & clean sysnand. So as much as possible I tried to be as gentle as I can when I eject the card. So far about 3 years in my SD slot still seems fine luckily.

It is also possible that the 1st ver of the switch uses higher quality SD card slots?

Some of the people in here are just lucky they haven't gotten a ban. There's always a chance nintendo will change their checks for things or that you've already been flagged and just not banned yet. Play it safe and keep two separate nands if you really don't want to worry about it.

The connector is the same. I doubt it would be a higher quality production run. But it is a known issue. It would be much better if the Nintendo Switch had a soldered SD card module on the motherboard (like the Switch lite) rather than a molex connector for a daughter board to clip onto, there's too much wiggle action. But I do think you'll be fine.

Hey OP! Thank you a lot for this question, and thank you a lot for all those who answered here. I always wanted to know exactly that!!!

One additional question: Sometime ago I saw an idea to replace the jig, wich was soldering the joycon pins to the release button, and use it as a jig. Anyone here using this idea?

Edit: one more thing: save games on sysnand are completely separeted from emunand right?

So I took a look at SD card slot replacement guide and it seems fairly easy enough, no soldering required and the replacement parts are so cheap online so shouldn't be much problem if it ever fails. Plus there is a screw holding the reader in place so there shouldn't be much wiggling of the connector?

Actually I personally prefer molex connectors for parts over soldered module since they are easier to replace.

Yes everything is completely separated

It's not the daughter board that's typically the issue, but what it clips on to. That can be problematic and fail eventually. The actual soldered module is easier to repair as it's larger, got bigger pins and is made from metal so much less chance of melting it. As for the wiggle, eventually too much force can sometimes cause issues with that molex connector on the board. But like mentioned you should be fine though.
