just curious
will you keep goldbricks up to date?
would be nice

Will update it when my github account gets unflagged. I would recommend Awoo over goldleaf/goldbricks, though.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

There are several .NSZ files that I can install with this that I can't with Tinfoil. The most common error I get with Tinfoil is "A system update is required in order to use this software," even though I am on FW version 9.0.1. I also have "Ignore Soft Firmware Check" set to Yes.

Every time I've seen that with Tinfoil, Goldbrick will install it just fine.

That was a bug with a specific version of tinfoil, and it was fixed. If you do not wish to upgrade your tinfoil, just enable "standard crypto" in the install options and it will install.

I would actually be quite happy to use it, and so many others, I’m sure it is very good solid app but the dev seems intent on blocking sxos cfw! Why? is very bizarre to me especially when the devs ripping off Goldleaf to start with.. so the dev can hardly blame sxos using Atmosphere code as the reason why!

Edit: it would be nice for sxos users to have a good solid basic app installer like Awoo to use even if we are also given the free option to be able to use it. I do miss the good old days of n1dus I used to rely on this app for all my installs so it would be nice to have Awoo as the up to date alternative.

The best part about FOSS code like Awoo installer, is you can just remove the DRM and build it yourself. Then you can share your DRM-free version with other people.

Try Lithium.

Yes very good point I here you. It would be nice though to have the dev do it officially then there is no bad feelings or arguments between anyone involved, then everyone can enjoy it which is how it should be.

I’m fully aware of lithium & tinfoil, you know that anyway, it’s not about that! Everyone should have the option to use what they want, without silly childish cfw wars getting in between, it’s pathetic to be honest!!

If we were trying to rip off Goldleaf then no one would be using Awoo Installer because it would be shit and not work. Do what @Crusatyr said and fix the code that works great on everything except SX OS and compile it yourself. Submit a PR when you figure it out. :)

Didn't the line of code that blocks SXOS get removed weeks ago?

Your happy for me to go ahead and do that? I have your blessing. I don’t want to start unnecessary upset. So if I change the code, it cannot be too difficult the line will be in there somewhere you will let sxos users access it? I’m just making you fully aware I made a fully working custom cbhc menu for the wiiu also worked on lots of projects so it cannot be too difficult I don’t want you back tracking ;)

Edit: Huntereb, do we know each other from the old 3ds hacking days your username rings a bell to me for some reason? or the old Wii days?

Hi all.
When I try to use Quark to connect Goldbricks to my Mac via usb, I get an error saying "the connection doesn't seem to be goldleaf". is it a bug with Goldbricks? any way to resolve this?
thanks.

It should work, the protocol has not been changed. If not, the older releases are still up on the releases page.

can you make it clear when installers will not work with newer firmwares?
also i tried awoo and usb installation failed
ive used this before and want to keep it as it has never failed me but does it work on the latest switch firmware?

Is there an app/program to install NSP-USB? Goldleaf, Goldbricks and Awoo are not working on Switch 11.0.1 (AMS 0.16.2)

Newest Awoo isn't working as well?
With sigpatches applied from within the app?
The update notes are stating that it does work on FW11+ with USB.

sorry to bump this old thread, but i wanted to say that goldbricks 1.0.0 doesn't work anymore on firmware 14.1.2 and atmosphere 1.3.2

i'm just writing this for the older people like me who don't use their switch often and aren't up to date on what homebrew apps to use.

i found out that tinwoo installer is the way to go for installing nsz files
