Hello
@blackmoon92!
Welcome to the conversation. There's NOTHING strange about this. The problem you &
@foxhidden were experiencing HAD TO BE whatever differences you two had in setup from the rest of us. Since you were both talking about using a non-English version of Shield, it was CLEAR the French version of Shield was causing the issue due to some difference between it and the English version.
It's most likely a bump in memory by some French dialogue when compared to the English version.
You will need to seek help from code hunters who have worked with the French versions of Shield if you want to fix this.
We ALWAYS hope as a community that all cheat codes will work universally but the most minor change to a game (in this case language) often prevents them from working universally.
(We know from v1.0.0 there are different to the save data based upon language as the "Encounter Different Language Pokémon" cheat codes only worked on English save files.)
Pretty much!
The game stores the Pathways as three separate UInt32 variables which each store the value 0 (as in no remembered Path) or as a PokéDex # (matching the Pokémon that is remembered.) The game will instantly change an illegal PokéDex # to 0 if it encounters one.
The 47 Legendary Pokémon are the only legal Pathway values. Of note, the Ultra Beasts are illegal unless the event flag variable for unlocking the UBs has been activated in your save!
The datamine community has numbered the Pathways 1, 2, 3 based the order the game stores them in. The way the Pathways work is when one is removed that variable is set 0 without having ANY impact on the other two variables. So, if you clear Pathway 2... the values of 1 & 3 will remain unaltered.
This means that it doesn't matter if you only have a Pokémon in Path 3... it will still appear.
The screenshot posted yesterday was using the cheats for Path 2 & 3 on a save with no remembered Paths... however as you stated... if you have Paths stored in the variables for 2 and/or 3 and use the cheat codes... they will REPLACE the Pokémon you previously had there.
