What is the difference between (Uncaught) and (Caught)?
It's exactly what it says.

I will just re-check a few of these on Shield. There's a chance I was testing on Sword originally.

You also French?

Hello @foxhidden & @blackmoon92,

What language do you have your Sword and/or Shield set to? Is it English or French?

The reason that I ask is this is an English speaking forum. The majority of the people here (like 99%) have their games set to English. If you are using language French, please start a new save file in English and test the cheat codes with you Switch & Game set to English and let us know if that makes the cheat codes work.

It has to be a language thing...

@foxhidden & @blackmoon92... if cheat codes on our first page don't work it might be cause you are playing in French.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Screw it. I cannot remember which 4 or so that I tested. I am just removing them from the front page.

Hello yes I am French, my two games are also French, I tested with the same save file created on shield and the cheat codes work perfectly on sword and do not work on shield.

Works correctly on "EPEE"??? Sorry, I am unsure of what you are trying to convey @blackmoon92.

In case there is any doubt what the cheat code is supposed to do, this is Pathway 2 & 3 used to add Rayquaza and Xerneas to the list (THAT'S it & they work perfectly fine):

Thanks for that. It seems to be that @blackmoon92 has the same problem on Shield Version, and we are both playing in French.

I will test in Sword version in French and I let you know if it has worked or not but @blackmoon92 said yes :)
And what about my steps of activating codes, is it the good way to apply it ? Thanks for help.

On sword I activate my cheat code via sx cheat menu and it works directly, but on shield nothing happens

I have juste tested on Sword Version and I confirm that It works instantly, no need to save / restart the game, just activating the code:

I confirm that in Shield Version with an English save it didn't work ! So It's not language-related sorry but it seems that for Shield the code seems to be not the good one :(

Here is a screen (I have try with 2nd and 3rd path, and with Xerneas and Yveltal):

@Th3Alic3: It's exactly the same code for Shield and Sword, are you sure that the memory sectors are the same ? Can You test and Shield and give us a feedback please ?

Thanks !

Odd, I've been using the 2nd and 3rd path codes for Zygarde and Rayquaza just fine on Shield for the past couple of days

The screenshots are of my Shield game from yesterday so like many of the users have said... there is no issue.

Furthermore, in the other thread I witnessed you two speaking about injecting Sword / Shield saves into the wrong game without adjusting any of the save's variables handling the version. While this can work, it's something that can pooch a save enough to tie into your issues.

@blackmoon92 & @foxhidden, I would like to ask you to take your chat PRIVATE as this is more of a troubleshooting user error at this point.

If there are issues due to the usage of French in your Switch OS and/or Sword & Shield, we will not be able to help you in that as you have come to a primarily English speaking community.

Due to a few people having issues with the Caught/Uncaught Max Lair Cheats and due to coming to knowledge that a lot @SkyQueen's codes were not even tested properly by themselves, I have simply removed those cheat codes from page 1. (I don't remember which 2 or 3 that I tested so it's far easier just to have a 100% functional list.

@xarfax1105, these players are using French language settings. (There maybe language barriers as shown by their posts/issues with the console/games in terms of the memory address allocation.) As such, I am sure they can co-ordinate in private.

Hello, my shield backup is the original one created on this game, I just tested to send it to epee to test the code because I did not have a saver on epee, I think there is a bug in the memory addresses I do not know how to create sort code I asked for your help in order to be able to use these codes very convenient. I can give you a French shield save to help you. thank you

I use Edizon on Atmosphere. Pretty much just go into the game, pick which code is for the pokemon I want then talk to the lady.

@blackmoon92, I verifyed with save compares in SHIELD that the ONLY value being changed in memory is the correct one.

I primarily run Shield.

It's where I tested the Pathway codes first which is part of why we don't have a Pathway 1 cheat.

Screenshot Yesterday at 4:53 PM PST was a LIVE TEST. ON SHIELD!!! Something I have said MULTIPLE TIMES and you are chosing to ignore that.

The issue is entirely on your end. No one else is having issues and unfortunately there is no one else here who can help you to trouble shoot. We have heard it is not working for you but the best I can figure it is SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE FRENCH LANAGUE in your games. Do you understand?? I am sick of repeating this.

I don't quite understand why the problem would come from two French people but hey I'll do other tests very quickly

Ok We can just discuss quietly no ?
I have the same problem even with Game set To English language, as we see in the attach I post this morning.
I have only one Pokemon listed in my list, do I need to add another one because if there only one, the game set it to Path 1 ? I will try this.

Please take this topic private off this forum.

Yesterday, I re-tested on Shield provided screenshot of it working. There's nothing more we can do.

Try to have 3 different pokemon saved, and then use a cheat to overwrite one of these

You will understand that what is strange is that the codes work on French sword and not on French shield while I use the same code

codes work on French sword and not on French shield
Hello @blackmoon92!

Welcome to the conversation. There's NOTHING strange about this. The problem you & @foxhidden were experiencing HAD TO BE whatever differences you two had in setup from the rest of us. Since you were both talking about using a non-English version of Shield, it was CLEAR the French version of Shield was causing the issue due to some difference between it and the English version.

It's most likely a bump in memory by some French dialogue when compared to the English version.

You will need to seek help from code hunters who have worked with the French versions of Shield if you want to fix this.

We ALWAYS hope as a community that all cheat codes will work universally but the most minor change to a game (in this case language) often prevents them from working universally. (We know from v1.0.0 there are different to the save data based upon language as the "Encounter Different Language Pokémon" cheat codes only worked on English save files.)

Try to have 3 different pokemon saved, and then use a cheat to overwrite one of these
Pretty much!

The game stores the Pathways as three separate UInt32 variables which each store the value 0 (as in no remembered Path) or as a PokéDex # (matching the Pokémon that is remembered.) The game will instantly change an illegal PokéDex # to 0 if it encounters one.

The 47 Legendary Pokémon are the only legal Pathway values. Of note, the Ultra Beasts are illegal unless the event flag variable for unlocking the UBs has been activated in your save!

The datamine community has numbered the Pathways 1, 2, 3 based the order the game stores them in. The way the Pathways work is when one is removed that variable is set 0 without having ANY impact on the other two variables. So, if you clear Pathway 2... the values of 1 & 3 will remain unaltered.

This means that it doesn't matter if you only have a Pokémon in Path 3... it will still appear.

The screenshot posted yesterday was using the cheats for Path 2 & 3 on a save with no remembered Paths... however as you stated... if you have Paths stored in the variables for 2 and/or 3 and use the cheat codes... they will REPLACE the Pokémon you previously had there.

Thank you for this clear explanation, I better understand the technical problem. Could you make an exception for the fr community that lives on gbatemp.net by writing these two codes for fr shield because all other codes work except these two. I'm not asking you to list all the legendaries just to create the base code. Thank you for your time and your work.
