Hey guys! Hopefully this is the correct section in which to ask.

I've been attempting to make some cheat codes for Scarlet & Violet, with the purpose of making a little trade bot.
I would like to ask you for assistance - my objective is to update the link trade code, such that when tapping on "Begin Search", the value that was previously poked is the one used to actually search for a trade partner.

Using EdiZon SE, I have found the two (and only) following addresses (which also appear to be static!):
- [HEAP + 0x0334677160]
- [MAIN + 0x00042D56E4],
which both contain an unsigned 32-bit integer with the actual code: i.e. 5555_5555 -> 0xE3B54F03

Problem: when updating both of these values and using a second Switch to search for a trade partner with the new updated code (say 0xAA40F903, which is 6666_6666), no partner is found. Using the old code it does work instead.
I've also tried to look for a string representation of the code, but the only thing that pops up is the actual string that's displayed on screen; updating that doesn't really do much.

Do you guys think there might be some other "hidden" value the game is using to actually search for a trade partner or am I hopefully doing something wrong? Here to learn! I'm quite fascinated by this, never actually got into doing any super-low level stuff before. Thanks!

Update #1
What I've tried:
1. Search for the code as a uint32 value after updating it in game,
2. Search for the code as an unknown value, increase the code numerically in game, search again for an increased value.

trade codes are encrypted so you wont be making custom ones in a cheat code unfortunately.
I see, awesome! That's why I could get ahold of the actual address and get it to work. Thank you!

Would you suggest disassembling the romfs.bin via Ghidra and attempt to reverse the encryption algorithm?

Pokémon violet working shiny egg cheat. Been tested myself...
Shiny egg on (on)
Encounter mod on (on)
Default encounter on (on)
Ivs if want
Nature if want..

Turn on these cheats before you take any eggs.
Once you get your eggs turn off your shiny cheat to make sure it hatched shiny without the cheat being activated.

You can add other cheat to these cheats like HA ect...
