I think I remember downloading it from somwhere once and it didn't work for me either. Getting it from another source sorted it out. There must be some bad dumps out there.

Thanks @KiiWii for posting that program, I didn't know it existed.
A few weeks ago one of the HDDs that I keep fpkgs on must have gone bad because several of the games on it went corrupt. Checking each one individually took ages. LOL this would have been much easier.:)

pkg viewer and pub-chk can verify as well. however, I can't seem to get pkg viewer to extract or verify any package if the firmware is over 5.05. it won't list contents either. pub-chk = no issue no matter the firmware.

there's probably some sort of checksum within the package. ps3 packages have one at the very bottom (last two lines). those last two lines are the sha-1 of the rest of the package (minus those two lines). I somehow figured that out on my own one day a long time ago. ;) I think the ps3 verifies the package first before trying to install anything, so it usually errors around 14% if it's a package corruption error.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

btw, someone messaged me about greedfall giving an error with orbis pub chk, then not verifying at all with pkg viewer. he managed to extract the content, then rebuild the package. it worked after that. the one I have gave me no problems.

I'm not sure if you have a specific amount of bandwidth with your ip (I do). I accidentally went over downloading a bunch of sci fi shows. I'm trying to get all of my games on to my second switch (bought a 1TB micro sd card for it as well). I have multiple downloads going, so it's slow, just hoping that it goes slow enough into the next billing cycle where mine ends on the 25th. anyway, if you can extract it, maybe you could build a good pkg in case you don't want to redownload that game.

turns out the problem was that i had it in my downloads section previously and it was preventing the pkg from installing cause it kept trying to download instead.

I don't know if this would help, but you might try deleting the notification.db on the hdd.

I don't know what's all in the notification.db, but it's a safeguard for me, because packages can be named whatever you want, and the name in the notification.db will reflect that. if you delete the notification.db from the hard drive, it will look like you've installed nothing yet everything works as usual.
