Crysis Remastered's new launch date revealed

Following its delay back in July, Crytek has announced the new release date for Crysis Remastered. A new comparison trailer also shows the improved visuals side-by-side with the original game, boasting textures that go as high as 8K resolution. The Nintendo Switch port of the game already launched a few months ago in a more basic form, but this version of the game set for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and the Epic Games Store on PC will offer HDR, SSDO, depth of field, new lighting options, better particle effects, raytracing, and more. You can grab Crysis Remastered when it launches September 18th, for $29.99.

Co-developed with Saber Interactive, the classic first person shooter will focus on the original game’s single-player campaigns and is slated to contain high-quality textures up to 8K, HDR support, temporal anti-aliasing, Screen Space Directional Occlusion (SSDO), Global Illumination (SVOGI), state-of-the-art depth fields, new light settings, motion blur, parallax occlusion mapping, Screen Space Reflections and Shadows (SSR & SSS) as well as new and updated particle effects and more. Further additions such as ray tracing enhance the game with a major visual upgrade.

For the first time a Crytek game will feature ray tracing on Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro powered by CRYENGINE’s proprietary software based ray tracing solution. The PC version will additionally support hardware-based ray tracing on Nvidia RTX GPUs.

In Crysis, what begins as a simple rescue mission becomes the battleground of a new war as alien invaders swarm over a North Korean island chain. Armed with a powerful Nanosuit, players can become invisible to stalk enemy patrols, or boost strength to lay waste to vehicles. The Nanosuit’s speed, strength, armour, and cloaking allow creative solutions for every kind of fight, while a huge arsenal of modular weaponry provides unprecedented control over play style. In the ever-changing environment, adapt tactics and gear to dominate your enemies, in an enormous sandbox world.

It has to be a remake. The original is like 13 years old. People in this thread are being retarded complaining about the price. The 360 version is a super neutered version of the game.

Remaster. All they did was upgrade the graphics the story and etc.. are still the same. A Remake is basically they upgraded the graphics and changed the story around like they did for the FF7 Remake, If you looked at the Crysis Remaster for the switch they actually downgraded it from the 360 version. I just played this game on my Xbox One S from the EA Pass and the story and etc.. are still the same all they did was upgrade the graphics. In my perspective would I rather pay $30 for 1 game with upgraded graphics or just pay $30 for EA Pass and get Cysis 1-3 and a alot of other games for the same price. Now if they actually gave Crysis 1-3 with upgraded graphics + Multiplayer the $30 price tag would be justifiable.

Wait, this sentence is confusing. Was all they did was upgrade the graphics, story and etc, or are the graphics, story and etc still the same?

Sorry i worded it wrong only the graphics. The story mode is still the same. I actually downloaded the old Crysis game from EA pass to compare it to the switch version and the story is the same.

The PS4/XB1/PC has the updated graphics and etc but the story mode is still the same.

And i bet nothing has been remastered, itll just have its graphic settings set higher.

Like on the pc it was a demanding game, even then it likely had to have settings limited.

But at least we are safe in saying the switch version is more like a demaster than anything else.

So aside from all the jokes about it running on things, is it, you know, fun to play and stuff?
The game was always a great pretty beautiful thing to look at. But it was always a standard shooter. It wasn't bad, but the game's selling point was always the graphics and not innovative gameplay elements.

I don't think that has changed.

I don’t think you’ve played the original on PC. There’s numerous changes from the 360 version. Also the game is at minimum ported to a newer version of the cryengine. Cryengine 1 is a complete mess.

Ok I see your point the PC version looks alot different. AFAIK the one on the switch is exactly like the 360 version (slightly downgraded) idk if the remaster will be like the PC version.
