Thanks @RunningSnakes and @Tototi.
I admit I wasn't aware of many of those plugins.
So basically, they are all ports of PC games, except for Giana's return which is an unofficial brand new sequel.
It this is right I will prepare big box covers for them.
I'm still battling with a nasty conflicting issue I have with my plugins pack, plus some even nastier personal problems.
I hope to solve the two of them as soon as possible, so please forgive me if I'm pausing from this work a little. In the mean time it would be very helpful if you could provide here your working setups for these plugins, like Runningsnakes did. I will take care of the magic numbers and platform.ini integration stuff, so don't worry about them.

Hey! I told you months ago about q1rev and q2rev engine for quake 2 ( multiplayer supported) and I guess you did not notice. I have it linked to WFL.

Hahaha

Not necessary anymore, I've got it working now. My roms were bad.

I already have QRev Pack up and running. As I said in a previous post, I find controls to be very clunky and I was not sure to include it in the pack.
But if people really want it I can include it.

Edit: I'm making fullcovers in big box format for all the newly included source ports:
Abuse
Alien Breed Obliteration
Giana's Return
Spear of Destiny
Supaplex
Tyrian
Wolfenstein 3D

I'll upload them in the cover thread part2 once they are ready

Just a reminder:

Tyrian 2000 is not compatible via USB for the moment. Tyrian 2000 works if ran via SD

Does anyone of you know what is the correct argument line for WiisxRX and Wii64?
The emulators are not auto launching the games.
All is good with NOT64 using
arguments=rompath = "{device}:/{path}/{name}"
but the same line doesn't work with WiiSXRX and Wii64

I like not64 since their zip compatibility. Wii64 has not

just finished checking wiisx rx code. I could not find anywhere the filepath and iso filename are taken from args.
the first arg is checked if it's USB or SD and then tries to load the proper config files from that device.
after that all other args are apparently just settings you will find in that config file.
each arg should be key=value. wiisx rx takes those and sets the config setting to that value.
as far as i can tell there is no option in the config for iso filepath.
check you configs to see if there is.

Edit: i did some digging and found the original wiisx plugin mods by fix94 (mod1 and mod2)
here is the arg line - arguments={device}:/{path}|{name}
don't know if this will work with wiisx rx

note he says he made wiisx not autoboot the game so you can change the settings per game.

Thanks @fledge68
No filepath in config for me too. I'm also having issues with saving configurations. But it can be that I'm using a mixed setup, app on SD and wiisxrx/iso folder on USB.

I've found the wii64 rice version, same issue with arguments. Is there a working mod?

{device}:/{path}|{name} did not work.

Settings are saved (or loaded) if both the app and the wiisxrx folders are on the same device.

Maybe that could help. I've made this stuff last year because autobooting wasn't working with Wiisxr.

Source code included as a patch.
Thanks Wiimpathy. I am using the one from the second link and it autoboots the games really good.
However, I still have the issue of controller not responding (as reported in the linked thread). If I disconnect the CC and press home on the wiimote, it acts as start button (instead of menu). I have to press reset on the console to enter the menu, to make the controller work.
It also doesn't save the settings when used as a plugin, but they work if you launch it from the HBC.
I know you don't want to invest further time on it, but I thought this could be useful information.

Hi

This seems to me one of the most interesting topics right now for people who still use wiiflow and if I can I would like to help doing tests or something.
Now I am reading the thread but I am a little lost ...

Ok, after further testings in Wiiflow with RA / RA-Hexaeco, here's the situation.
Some cores are working better with standard RA, some others need Hexaeco, and a few cores are equally working or not working with both.
So I think the only option for me is to mix them.
1) When both are good, I could include both to let users decide their ethical preference (no source code available for Hexaeco)
2) When both are bad, there are always the standalone emus.
However, I'd like to know everyone's thoughts about point 1). I know it may seem redundant.

Here I'm sharing with you my tests results:
Arcade FBA (fbalpha, Cps1, Cps2, NeoGeo) - (both are Good)
Mame2003+ - All the alts core are missing in Hexaeco - (perfect with RA 1.7.6)
Fceumm NES - Can't press Start with RA!! - (perfect with Hexaeco)
Fceumm FDS - can't turn disk sides / read errors when you do - (both RA and Hexaeco are bad)
Lynx - Rotating the screen requires to change the core option, save settings, return to Wiiflow and restart the emu (both are bad)
Gambatte - Wrong DMG palette in Hexaeco - random code dumps in RA - (both are bad)
Wswan - RA randomly code dumps - bad audio stutterings in Hexaeco - (both are bad)
Neo geo pocket - RA random code dump - (perfect with Hexaeco)
Game & Watch - major issues in Hexaeco - (perfect with RA)
Cannonball - (both are Good, but HEXAECO adds motion controls)
Virtual Boy - slow as hell - (both are bad)
Pce CD fast - Stuttering audio in Hexaeco - (perfect with RA)
Pce Supergrafx - RA random code dump - (perfect with Hexaeco)
GenplusGX - with hexaeco you can save different cfg's without the need of duplicating the dol (needed in RA because GG - SG1000 - SMS - MD all use different resolutions) - (both are Good) but I think Hexaeco wins for the mentioned reason
Snes9xGX - performance issues in RA - (perfect with Hexaeco) - Satellaview is good too.
mGBA - Hexaeco won't correctly scale the grid scanlines overlays - (perfect with RA)

On which version the cores have been used with retroarch (normal)
Are these the best recommendations so far?

I am going to read the thread again to see if I find out everything well (sorry if what I have asked is already answered)

And one more thing, couldn't @Tetsuo Shima update the first post by putting a list with the most recommended emulator for each system and we will update if there are news?

@Jate
The "normal" RA cores are not recommended for any emulator. They do not function as well as Wiimpathy Arcade cores, or SuperrSonic fork cores.

Tetsuo is very close to releasing this, as he mentioned not long ago in this thread. Please be patient.

Thank You @Tetsuo Shima for your dedication to this project. I salute you sir, you are a beacon on these GBATEMP threads. I hope you are doing well my friend.

Thanks for your words @RunningSnakes
I was too optimistic with the release date, I had very little time to work on it
I still have to sort out a couple of issues with some "minor" plugins, meanwhile I'm waiting for @kaisersozeh to finish the works on his Quake GX fork.

On a secondary note, I'm happy to say that I've found out how to make the controller work in Wiisx-R, without having to press the reset button. You have to unplug the classic controller, then press + and - at the same time on the Wiimote. You will enter the menu, connect the CC and it will work.
So happy that I can do it all from my couch:rofl:

Sorry and @RunningSnakes
thanks for the summary.
I did not understand that @Tetsuo Shima was supervising all the cores and emulators that are being commented and is making a selection of what works best for each system.
Thank you very much for the great work that you all do, especially @Tetsuo Shima.
Thanks and I will follow the thread to see if I can help with anything.
