So I've been having issues with my Vita's battery dying quickly, I have to charge it almost every night if I play it even for just a bit and even on days that I don't even turn it on (I just charge it and pull the plug out) it's already dead. It had been a while since I played my Vita, maybe a couple months so I thought I should replace the battery on it but that didn't fix the issue (got ZTHY Compatible New SP65M Battery Replacement off of Amazon). I use an OEM cable to charge it (even bought another one to see if my cable was an issue). I also play with lowest brightness and it's on airplane mode. I can't seem to figure out what the issue is and I'd really appreciate anyone's help! Oh yeah and I'm running 3.65 Enso.

Sounds to me like it might be a plugin tey updating your plugins to latest version if you haven't already. Also adding a # then space in front of plugin line in config.txt disables it instead of having to delete it. Play around with disabling plugins and see if any of them are causing this issue.

Thanks for the advice, I’ll look into that!

Np! also if you are using a 3g2sd card adapter and are getting the "this device is not supported" msg it also might be the cause of the power drain, i had to disable it using registry editor, because it was draining even when i wasn't using it due to the vita constantly checking the 3g slot.
To do so you use the registry editor and edit CONFIG/TEL/use_debug_settings

Oh I'm using the one that plugs into the game cartridge slot, I think the plugin is gamesd? Also got rid of vitacheat plugin that I installed a while back and rarely used. Really hoping that helps since the only other plugins that I have left are nonnpdrm and repatch.

Ahh idk i have vitacheat installed and don't have any power issues, i think the problem may possibly be the gamesd plugin, i believe it's better to use storagemgr plugin nowadays instead, you can use autoplugin to install and manage the storage locations easily, 3g2sd, sd2vita, mem card as ux0, umao, etc.

Changing the plugin from gamesd to storagemgr seemed to definitely help! I also updated the adrenaline I was running as well just in case. Still feel like it drains faster than it used to though, I used to be able to keep it on standby mode for days and now it seems to have a little less than half battery for only one night. Gonna try to put the old battery in and see how long it lasts with the changes made.

Glad that helped! And yes i recommend you use the original battery and see how it goes, hopefully the power drain stops. If not one last thing you can try is opening up your vita disconnect the battery and hold the power button on for a few minutes which drains any remaining power, then plug battery back in and see if that helps.

I experienced the same thing with my Vita 3G: if I leave it for couple of days powered off (not suspended), the battery will goes to empty. Maybe this is generic for 3G Vitas?

Hmm i don't know, i do use a 3g vita as well and did have the power drain just like you at first, but it no longer has the power drain issue i think because i disabled the 3g slot debug settings.
Just wondering but do you have the 3g module installed in your 3g vita or is it empty?

Good idea. It is an original, unopened Vita, so the module is in its original place. May I ask how can I disable 3g slot debugging?

I see so it should have the module and should be working fine i switched out the 3g module for a sd card adapter and it was constantly giving me errors and draining power due to the errors, i had to use the registry editor app and edit CONFIG/TEL/use_debug_settings from a 1 to a 0 and it helped me out, not sure, but you can try to see if it helps, it just disables the checking of the 3g module when vita checks for errors.

Just realized I never posted what I actually had to do to fix this issue, just in case someone runs into a similar situation as me. Turns out it wasn't a plugin thing, although this might have contributed to the battery drain, but I had to completely remove my 3G slot. After that my Vita seems to last for days without charge while sleeping and a game still open in the background, with the original battery that it came with. Not sure why this was the case since I even went through registry edit and disabled the 3G slot.

Thanks for info, did you also removed the 3G/WiFi card? Or there is some way to disable 3G by system tweaks?

Yeah so I completely took this out of my system, didn't touch the wireless card:

There might be a way to do it through some system tweaks although I may have not changed the right things when using the registry editor.

OK, will test this out, now I found that setting CONFIG/TEL/use_debug_settings via registry to 1 reverse vita to no 3G state. Now I am charging it and report to you. I have this draining problems with 3G model for years and often use Slim than OLED.

Crossing my fingers and hoping it'll work out for you as that OLED screen is awesome!

Yeap :) I also have question for you... since near marked module there is some flex cable - Is it possible that this is connection to mother board that could be disconnected to not remove the whole board.

My Vita is almost charged, I also use battery fixer app to clear the battery stats and will give console a wole day on standby and will check this hour after hour. This thing was may main problem I even talked with some devs because I spotted it little bit after Henkaku show up. Now after this registry setting there is no sign of mobile related options. Maybe it will fix this - Fingers crossed.
