Theoretically would it be possible to use the citra 3ds core for retroarch nintendo switch to run TWIlight menu and possibly get smooth emulation for the DS? Edit: Sorry if this is a dumb question or discussion Im just very curious

Not at all. TWiLight Menu isn't a DS emulator on the 3DS, it's an application that runs in DS mode on the 3DS that runs DS games natively - no emulation, as it uses hardware.

Ah I totally forgot about that. Thank you for the clarification I understand now. I was just so happy to have a 3ds emulator to be released for patreons that I thought about this but forgot its hardware

It's still emulation because the switches CPU doesn't translate to the DS' run directly. It would be the Switch emulating a 3DS running DS natively. it doesnt matter what you do towards the end, the Switch to 3DS translation is still present

It would literally be physically impossible to run it through citra, as the hardware just isn't present.
