All of those are either hardware defects or people being dumbasses. There'll always be a possibility of getting a defective system, regardless of when you get one, but it's extremely unlikely, and if it does happen you can just return the system for a new one.
I've never had any issues with any of my Switches & they all still work fine to this day.

Launch day one for normal stuff and homebrew (both on sysmmc)
Late 2017 one for experimenting (I often need to switch firmware versions and stuff like that, having a second console for that is nice).
And a early Mariko system that I have plans for in the future.
