Homebrew Question About Saving Data in DS Homebrew

I'm learning Nintendo DS homebrew programming and I'm having problems finding a way to write save files for homebrew. Can someone help me?

For homebrews, you don't have to go for savefiles, as those files are just dumps of a cart's flash memory (most of the time, as dsiwares have them structured in a different way). What you can do is simply create files via the filesystem functions (fopen/fread/fwrite) and store/retrieve data in that way.

Ok, I tried that, and I can't find where the save file went. I'm using MelonDS to test.

MelonDS doesn't support Flashcard/SD emulation, afaik.

I'm wondering about how to do save games, not flashcard/SD stuff. Stuff like internal EEPROM.

I looked into the devkitpro stuff for the DS development stuff and haven't found anything for EEPROM creation. Is it impossible?

It's possible.
Try checking the source code of this for save reading/writing.
