Hello,
Was wondering if anyone can help me out figure out what is getting caught when docking with a slim plastic case. I have one of these back protectors on when docking into the dock (https://www.play-asia.com/search/back+protection+cover+for+nintendo+switch). I wanted to get a skin from DBrand but figured out it was much easier to get a snap on case instead. So whenever I dock, occasionally the left side of the Switch will not go in but the right side will. I kept looking around the dock to see if anything was stuck and checked the case if anything can be caught on it. I tried pushing the left side down and it'll slowly slide back up.
Is anyone able to help me with this question? I am a little concerned if i am inserting the male usb c connector on an angle and damaging the port. But when i think about it, is it possible to angle insert the Switch in since there is a "guard rail" to help with the insert?

Another question is whether or not the dock extender cables are safe to use?

Thanks all.

"What is getting caught when docking"
I think I have been on the internet too long lately...

If you think something is getting pinched or rubbed then some pen, maybe some paper, or electrical tape on the areas in question can help with that one. It will hopefully reveal what is happening if you can't feel it, tape especially as that fraction of a mm more does reveal quite a bit..

Yeah if the USB is going in at a bad angle and it is one of the typical rigid connectors (no floating or angled movement options) it might not be ideal.

A longer cable run will generally trouble either the current it can deliver if they are tiny thin wires (longer charge time) and possibly have interference in any signals (mostly digital but still potentially an issue -- one you will see, hear or experience with USB things). Quality control might also be an issue but I have not heard of any going wrong there and thus it is likely just something in the manual so they can point to it in court and say we told you.
