Humm.
When you boot the 360 via the powerbutton or the controller, you should wait until everything is loaded in then press the Eject button on the console.
If correct, the tray shouldn't open and it should load in a "mixed media disc".
After that you can press the powerbutton, press right on the Dpad and select System Video player.
Then go to said "mixed media disc" and load in your game.

Judging from the video, I think the modshop just didn't provide enough information to you.

The modshop told me I don't need any update btw. I got the newest version of xKey. xKey supports NTFS, FAT32, etc...
but xBox itself supports only FAT32. That might explain something.

K. Imma write down from my brain what I got so far for myself:

#1 Download games to your 2TB NTFS HDD.
#2 Name the folder on the HDD "games".
#3 All games come in there. They MUST be .ISO files.
#4 The HDD must be already running before turning on the xBox.
#5 Put the USB-Dongle in the nearest outcome of the white cable in that exact USB slot.
#6 Connect the HDD with the USB-Dongle.
#7 Turn on the xBox in the xKey mode by either pressing the xBox controller menu button or by pressing the power button on the xBox itself.
#8 Wait until it's turned on properly.
#9 Either:A) Open the xBox by pressing "A" on the controller or B) Pushing the "open tray" button on the xBox.
#10 Repeat #9, so the tray closes digitally and / or physically.
#11 ??? A "mixed media" disc MUST show up. That is the indicator that it's working ??? <--- Not 100% sure about this.
#12 Go to "apps" and select the picture app. The HDD should be shown as a media disc. Browse through and select an ISO
in the "games" folder. By doing so you switch the game.
#13 You're able to play now.

That's pretty much it yeh.

Only factors then is the ribbon cable not being inserted properly or a missing cfg file on the HDD containing games.

Dumb question, but do you know if the ribbon needs to be a certain side in? Theoretically you can put it in either way. Practically I would have to look up the tutorial in comparison with the xBox we have.

Where or how do we get the .cfg file on the HDD? Is it just the .cfg file from the firmware? Let's say it's the HDD "X:\games".
For safety reasons I would drop the xKey Firmware Update in the folder "X:\games" & on "X:\". Or do I need to read out
specifications of the HDD for the xBox???

The blue tab should be facing away from the console.

The cfg file goes on the root of the HDD.
So do the update files.

ie. "X:/" is the "root" of a storage medium.

Everything worked today. The console modder shop today told me what I need. I don't need a .cfg file he said.
Tomorrow I will test that.

I will also test if I can use the 4TB external HDD with two 1,9TB big partitions.

I will post a video later on how I got it working.

Do you know if I can play old xBox games on there? I don't mean old xBox 360 games. I mean old xBox from the
first generation of consoles.

Is it also a big advance if I defragmentate the HDD?

The cfg file contains parameters which are needed for the operation of the Xkey.
Namely MenuISO.
It must be enabled if you want to use it.

First gen Xbox games...
I heard about it working but I never tested it meself.
Got an old Xbox + RGH console for that so eh.

Uhm, aside from minor speed changes defragging is not really needed.
A full NTFS drive needs a few minutes to list all the games.

In all honesty, I understood 10% of what that guy in that video was saying.

I assume it didn't work for you?

The guy in the video is me, haha.

Now it doesn't work anymore again... maybe because I got corrupted games on there too now...?

Hmm, if it worked before it's likely the HDD that is being problematic.

K. This is what I got so far:

The big HDD with 2TB doesn't show up what-so-ever. I think it's because I got around 60 games on there and one or two of them might be broken. So when there's one broken game on there, it won't work at all and it won't show the HDD in its entirety (just a thesis of mine). We checked with a tool the status of the HDD but after 2 hours it was around 7% or so. Might wanna retry today.

We used my 128 GB USB stick. This caused very interesting glitches. Sometimes the xBox recognized the stick, sometimes not.
Sometimes I could "play" the game in the picture viewer app, sometimes it didn't show up. It always froze when it came to starting the game.

We switched over to a 32 GB USB stick that seems to work perfectly. The bad thing about this is: We somewhat have to play one game now. Finish it and check the next one. Game after game after game. Otherwise it's not possible to check out what was working and what not.

A BIG HELP FOR ALL OF THIS:
When the xBox 360 doesn't show you your HDD ----> Remove the power cable from the xBox 360 AND the HDD. Wait some seconds plug it all in and restart. I even disconnect every connection between the power socket to the xBox and the xKey and the video cable and the power cable of the HDD.
This might be unnecessary, but after such a long time, you get somewhat depressed that it's not working.

Might keep you up-to-date which files, forders and which order needs to be followed to work properly.

There's no such thing as a "broken" game.
You always should check your games with ABGX anyway.

I'm otherwise clueless as what to suggest.
I never had any problems with it, nor did the people I installed it for.

We're definitly sticking with the 32gb USB stick option, since it's worked just like a charme.
Today we played through Halo 4. Some textures in very near sight were very low resolution, like they didn't bother
to load in higher quality even when you were standing in front of the objects very nearly.
My 2 friends said it was because of the xKey modification. I think Halo 4 itself was just harshly made.

Can you tell me anything regards minor graphical bugs in regards to xKey modifications?

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
