Hacking Question Noob needs help with launch day switch

Hi everyone!

I’ve had a switch since launch day, I wanted to hack it over a year ago but I held off because amazon gave me a free year of switch online and the wife enjoyed playing Mario kart online for awhile. That ended as of this week and the wife no longer cares about going online and would rather be playing more games.

So my question to you all is what is the easiest to use exploit to hack my switch and to rehack it upon reboot? I’m seeing all kinds of conflicting guides and I want whatever is the most reliable/easy to use. Not super concerned with getting banned from online, never really enjoyed it to begin with.

I would like whatever solution I implement to be somewhat easy to teach the wife, the RCM jig seems pretty straight forward to her, and if I have to have her plug it into a pc and run a script or program that’s totally doable.

Any input/advice is appreciated, I just want to know a good place to start with this since it’s a v1.0.0.

If your switch is still on 1.0.0, it would be a good idea to keep it on that firmware since there might be a coldboot solution that might come out in the future. Easiest thing to do for now is to get an rcm jig and boot into hekate through your computer or dongle if you choose to buy one. Once in hekate you can enable autorcm so that you dont have to keep using the jig but that is up to you. Backup your switch first of all and then from there you should create an emummc partition for your switch. Once you created the emunand, edit the hekate.ini file so that you can enable patches to your emunand. Boot into your emunand and load up choidujour and then upgrade that to the latest firmware so that you can play your games. With this method, you can preserve your 1.0 firmware just in case for the future while also be in emunand on the latest firmware to play your games. Just dont be online on your emunand.

On the other hand if your switch is not on 1.0.0 then update it to the latest firmware and then start by going through the instruction with hekate.
