Hell0 Tempers!
i was wondering if anyone here knows: when making an homemade nand transfer tool with an SD adapter, when using the 68 ohms resistor, does the Wattage and Tolerance % matters?

thanks!

wattage doesn't matter so much in regards to this application, tolerance does matter a little bit more as this measures the accuracy(or quality) of the resistor under load/stress (hot/cold/current load/voltage) usually you'd want anything under +-15% meaning that the total resistance should fluctuate up or down within 15% of the stated value

i got these ones..but it only says 5% tolerance..will it work fine anyway? https://www.amazon.ca/Projects-10EP...ywords=68+ohm+resistor&qid=1580827629&sr=8-74
i have experience in soldering etc it wont be a problem to rgh, but my insecurity pushes me to need confirmations :P

i'm guessing the worst case scenario with a 5% tolerance, would be that i might need to dump my nand more times to be sure of having identical reads? or can it somehow damage the board?

5% is better than 15% for this, though by how much I could not say offhand.

The tolerance refers to how far above or below it can be from its stated value before the makers of it would scrap it (or more likely call it a worse quality one).

Hey Hey FAST! thanks for your reply.

One last question: when using a..hum hum..fake..chip, is there any other cons other then not supporting trinity? (acev4 clone) can it really honestly damage the console? (i will check the chip to make sure itds not missing any resistors/capacitor etc..)

Could you post a guide if you go through with this? It's expensive to find 360 nand readers here in the uk and even though I've done a fair amount of research I haven't encountered home made readers before. Would be helpful for others I'm sure.

Alright, unfortunatly, i got 2 more questions :P

1- when using an homemade sd tool to read nand, where to i solder the crystal? i read that i need to solder the crystal to point C on official tools, but this one is homemade so i dont know what i should do with the crystal...Ground it??

2- on the board of the console, i see i need to solder ground on 2 points (4 and 6), can i just bridge those 2 points together ?

Thanks!

BUMPITY BUMP,
..i'm unable to write ECC on my nand but i can read it perfectly fine, i made backups of its 48MB.
..can it be due to the fact that i grounded only pad 6 for ground? (on the diagram it shows 2 grounds, 4 & 6, but i wasnt sure if its just showing the ground options, or if it means we need to ground both?..)
Thanks!
