afaik, you can still play the game if you've copied it. only the one on internal memory will be used for cbhc. in my case, the name and icon didn't change on the home menu, because it's reading the usb version of the game while at boot up, it's reading cbhc from internal memory. I don't know for sure that the game will work, but it's likely it will as long as it's been copied.

Thanks again, I'm definitely going to give it a go once I want to play it, the game in question is Zelda Spirit Tracks which I've never played before, it would be fun to get a chance at playing it later on.

I do find it odd that there's even a copy function. normally, what would be the purpose in having two of the same game at the same time?

not sure. my cbhc still says redNAND and has a flame for its icon. that's why I assume it's reading the external hdd. I don't believe that information is stored in the metadata, so you can freely change icons without having to reinstall anything.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

btw, don't try to change the icon manually if using cbhc. a corrupted icon will make the game not boot.

I definitely wont change anything manually, the icon on mine is a big :!: and I followed wiiu.hacks.guide, if anything I'll safely uninstall CBHC, delete the game, redownload it from the eshop, copy it to the USB to see if it's playable and then reinstall CBHC on the one in the internal memory.

1. You don't need mocha when you already have haxchi.
2. Haxchi or CBHC doesn't need a fw.img on the micro sd card. CBHC autoboots already a patched sysnand.

unless things have changed, the problem with using mocha as fat32 is that the games have to be indexed, which means they need to be installed first on a wii-u formatted drive, then copied over.

Using the loadiine gx2 y mod, It Works fine here to me loading the games that i mention on Other reply without need to install anything on wiiu before.

the stuff is being indexed when you do that. it's to expedite loading, so that the system doesn't have to read the entire hdd. the ps3 does that as well. the 360 doesn't which is why it can take two or three minutes to see everything on a 1TB hdd in system settings.

Hi all! So, I currently have Haxchi installed on my WiiU. It's running just fine. However, I've noticed that when I go into the Homebrew app store it says there's an update for Haxchi. Is it best to update?

The other question is...why do you install an older version of haxchi? Install the latest release and you are fine

I think that happened because I followed a link from a really great YouTube video. The link was to a Google Drive folder that included all necessary files, but it was a couple years old. Thanks for the reply, though. I'll update Haxchi via the app store.

Oh and - random question - but how do you leave the app store? I can't seem to find a way to back out of it.

Don't follow video guides.

Press Homebutton and close the software.

Hi, Yes I’ve also found out not to follow video guides myself, as my setup was fine until I watched one, downloaded some files also not realising the vid was quite an old one & hence the files fd up my vwii big style & made me lose the hbc channel & wiimc channel & ive been trying to sort it out since as it also sent me a load of wad files attached to iOS files & I then accidentally deleted 4 of these as I kinda panicked & I know the 4 descriptions were something like ios236.wad so this was my vwii patch one & then the same description for 249, 250 & 251. Basically I just need to know 3 things please.

1, are these my actual iOS files as what exactly is a wad file as I now have loads of them ie I think I have the same but in my hidtovpad controller app except there numbered .ini files instead, so this has got me really confused as that video link downloaded a couple of wad managers to my sd card but like I say I don’t know what wads are because I’m not that far advanced yet.

2, see both photos.
I know Photo 1 is the original Haxchi config.txt file & Photo 2 is the Haxchi wiiuhacksguide one you change it to but I’m sure that now I have Haxchi installed on my internal memory it has changed back to the original as I only noticed the other day when I had to do another update off my HB apps as it’s now back on the original I’m sure, so I’m just asking for confirmation which one should be the correct config.txt you should be using That’s based on the root of your sd card if Haxchi is on your internal memory & it had originally copied over to my usb also but I deleted it as I never even noticed it was on there until recently tbh but I’ve read the usb one takes over automically

3, once Haxchi is installed to internal memory does it automatically delete itself from the sd card as I can’t find it on there anywhere now also?

Thanks in advance for the help

You have to delete it manually.

Thanks & I thought that was the case tbh as Like I say I didn’t realise it was actually on until recently & I just can’t remember if I took it off afterwards or if it came off with the other files when I had the error! Do u know which of those 2 config files should be on now also that it’s now in the internal memory ie is one better than the other ie is the fed.img one better? I take it that’s a forwarder btw lol & I’ve never used those yet but I’m hoping to get all my games GC & Wii eventually injected into my wiiu menu & then all other game formats also & I have around 50 wiiu games on there already & there all genuine lol
