Something about it on this format, with this presentation and how well it all just fits makes it a sublime experience. So amazing. If you haven't played it yet, please do as its well worth checking out.

What other games were tucked away on this system and were personal classics that don't have much in the way of hype you'd like to bring to our attention?

❤️ I love that game too!!! It's so unique and it has such a beautiful feel to it. I feel like I'm a kid again engrossed in the magic of exploration. Haven't felt that way playing a game in a long time, they usually just feel like chores. But that one is special.

Completely different genre but check out 999 (a DS game), Virtue's Last Reward (3DS) and Zero Time Dilemma (3DS). They are actually my favourite games of all time. Make sure to play them in order so the reveals at the end of each will be amazing instead of making you go "huh?"

Yes, thats exactly it as the game delivered that feeling in spades. So many releases these days are just variations on a theme or nothing new but everything about this - including the super funky tunes - just harks back to a simpler yet harder time. So great as its just so rewarding and fun.

Truly a joy to behold.

Now that I would totally disagree with. Sure there were loads of points where I felt like snapping my 3DS in half because they were tough but once it "clicked" (and it always did) it became so simple and that is a hallmark of genius design.

What was so good about this experience was the sense of wonder it provoked so many times as you'd be in a scenario with a WTF face on as you get to grips with it only to have it change into a beaming grin when you get it.

Excellent stuff.

What the heck is that? What a strange looking game, care to share some thoughts?
Sorry for the vague comment. It's an 8-bit throwback game, it's part musou, part gauntlet, part tower defense. You level up and upgrade your characters and it's 4-player multiplayer! The characters abilities are highly customizable so you can choose your style of play. a lot of action and use of strategy. An experience designed for the 3DS ported from the japanese game protect-me-knight 2.

Interesting, I've never played any of those games (part musou, part gauntlet, part tower defense) you mentioned before but find the aesthetic of this very appealing.

That Actraiser shout out at the end of the trailer just made me think how dope that style of game would've been on the 3DS. Or any platform really as the first one really was something else.

VVVVVV was the game that taught me indie games were a thing. Played it back when it was first released almost 10 years ago. Still love it too death until this day.

Don't sleep on Super Hexagon as well. Not on 3DS, but you can find many places else. What's the author doing these days, I wonder?
