Hey guys

Is it possible to play XCI instead of NSA to avoid bans with just atmosphere/CFW?
If positive, is it just by installing normally with Goldleaf for example like any other NSA?

Thank you very much

Yeah, but it’s still runs like an NSP won’t be true xci mounting.
Indeed. That's the second op's paragraph.

Thanks guys. I'll try and find a guide on how to setup emunand on switch since i could not find any (or maybe i'm not searching properly)
In this same forum, in the tutorials subforum, you'll find what you search.

XCI is God-tier trash. Day 1 SXOS user here just letting you know it's not worth it. NSP is the way to go. Load time with XCI is the worst thing ever especially if its loading from HDD

Do not listen to the guy above, xci is really amazing in reality, for me it works great and no problems with loading times, maybe nsp are a little faster but for me is not noticeable, he is just a xci hater
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the difference was that xci can go online and nsp can't; I'm sure I read that somewhere.

Preferences is key on how you want to play your games. You cannot mount nsps on an external hdd giving you a bigger library of games to play at home. The sxos can use both xci/nsp so I don't understand the debates over what to use unless you don't use the sxos. Avoiding bans means 0 Nintendo connectivity or a clean nand not the format of game

@AceX Going online with pirated games xci or nsp will get you banned asap

You can mount an xci in CFW (SXOS) - not emunand, and then switch to O/F and get the game update from Ninty - then dump the update from SXOS CFW. I love XCI, I've got loads and an external drive, and when I want to play them, just plug the hard drive in - mount the game and away I go, no installing needed - (and my card is full, so that's a bonus).

You live by the load times @kamesenin888 . XCI is for people who waste their time sitting down waiting for the game to load

It's very possible and apparently very easy todo thanks to MITM. I heard from inside the scene that people wish not to develop something like this, since Nintendo would most likely bring the wrath of a thousand suns if someone release an free XCI launcher.

It is not possible to use XCI files with anything other than SX OS. That being said, you can still be banned for using XCI files. If you want to be safe from the ban hammer, you need to use an offline emuNAND/emuMMC for hackery and backup loading. Atmosphere can do this.

If you update to the latest sxos version 2.8 and firmware 8.1.0 there is no noticeable loading difference between xci & nsp those records where probably took back when xci mounting was first introduced by TX and was a lot slower, xci loading is a lot faster nowadays.
