I really like De la Terre à la Lune, I once read an extract from that book in italian
While he is not unpopular/unknown I don't know how many around here would have read him, as opposed to maybe seen a film if they even knew he was the original author.
Anyway I will go with Journey to the Center of the Earth, mainly as it is probably the only one of his books I did in shorter order.

One of my favorite autors.
I won't be really original but "20000 leagues under the sea" is known to be his masterpiece for a good reason... it is.
I don't like the end though. Feel kinda botched to me. Felt the same way about "Journey to the Center of the Earth".
