how can I play media back off an sd card - is there an app to use/ does sx os have something built in?
I would like to know how to play back mkv / x264 files on it etc. any advice would be appreciated thanks!

Im gonna update with sdsetup kosmos and other stuff, I'm currently on 6.2 and all games are working fine less 2-3 Indies from this past week, once I update copy paste on my micro SD all my other games will be still playable right? And lastly I stay on 6.2 or is better start thinking on 7.01
What are you trying to do exactly? Hekate is a bootloader, not a CFW. If you want to use CFW, download Atmosphere, Kosmos, or ReiNX.
Did you prepare the micro SD card with all the things you need?

Do I really need to update to 7.01? The truth is just a couple Indies that I can't play atm.... Is there anyway to bypass those nsp I can't play like goken or merch? Is the only 2 I can't with tinfoil
You're going to need to update to 7.0.1 eventually, so you might as well do it now. If you know what you're doing, you can re-encrypt those titles with the proper encryption keys in order to get them to work on some lower system versions, but it's not worth the effort IMO.
Ughhh don't really want to do all the backup stuff again.... Lol I did actually got the keys and end up not using them lol with tinfoil and usbloader Java version.
The thing I don't understand is using tinfoil when ask you for firmware ignore (yes or no) won't be the case if you are in 6.2 ignore 7.0.1? Lol
There are three kinds of game requirements:
- System requirement flag (easily bypassed using Tinfoil's ignore feature)
- Master key encryption (can be bypassed by re-encrypting the game on your computer, but this method isn't worth the trouble if you can just update)
- Which software development kit was used (cannot be bypassed)
Better explanation impossible totally understand now... That's why another guy was telling me to use a program for those I can't play right now for reencryp them...
For update to 7.0.1 what is the best way since I did all backups on 6.2 and got keys etc....
Update using ChoiDujourNX and make sure you are using the latest version of your CFW of choice.

So I need to make sure I am on 6.2 on chodojournx when I update to 7.0.1? And after I need to backup and get keys again? Or I keep the ones from 6.2?

pPlay is a homebrew application. You can try to use it with SX OS, but I can't help you with SX OS since I would never use it.

You can update to 7.0.1 from any system version. Which keys are you referring to?
thanks boss - just hit up xbins ftp - grab it from there - then load the pPlay folder with the NRO into the \switch dir
then boot up your CFW just like you normally would ( in my case its sx os all day) once thats booted you just goto your album area - then navigate over to homebrew and then select pPlay - it opens fast and then you navigate the .. at the top to previous folder directories to located whatever folder your designated media is located in and then it plays great! im playing an mp4 at the moment . I will have to try to load up a mkv 1080 and see how that goes. not sure what the resolution of the switch is though and unsure if 720p is the best its gonna get - no point in playing back 1080p on it.
if anyone can chime in on 720p/1080p playback on it i would appreciate that input! thanks again
