I get a crash when enabling single joycon mode but I already made a Pull Request that should fix it.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

However I can’t test b/c git submodules (sic)

@cpasjuste is it possible to keep Nestopias mapper database intact for the switch port?
I maintain my NES ROMs in their headerless state and would like to use them like this.

This is what I'm talking about:
https://github.com/0ldsk00l/nestopia/tree/master/source/core/database

What does that mean, does it mean you want Pnes locked to a specific romset?

If so I dont believe console emulators should be locked to a specific romset, because with so many rom translations and hacks available for games.

Its nice for the user to be able to build thier own romsets.

pNES does use the nestopia database (located alongside the nro in the release if I didn't made a mistake).

Thanks @rsn8887 , I'll take a look as soon as possible. For the submodules, what do you mean?

Anyone figured out a way to Fast Forward / Speed up yet for Psnes, Pnes or Pfba? It'd be really useful.
Its the only reason I prefer Retroarch over this.

Why would you need a fast forward? is it really necessary?

I'd use cpasjuste standalone emulators over Retroarch any day of the week!
I dont even have Retroarch installed on my switch.

For games that require grinding XP.
it just makes it alot faster.. Earthbound, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest etc.. Also speeds up loading screens in games that take forever between screens. Alot of people prefer a fast forward option just as an option Incase they need to use it.

Thanks @rsn8887 , I'll take a look as soon as possible. For the submodules, what do you mean?

TLDR: When I clone a repo with submodules, the submodules are still pulled from upstream, not my own versions. When I try to modify the submodules config, everything breaks.

Long:
I use ssh credentials with a special host config to log-in to github via ssh and my username (git@github-rsn8887:... instead of the usual way). Whenever I try to clone and update submodules that way, github complains about wrong credentials or something. I could never get it to work right. Also, when I try to push a repo with submodules, it tries to push my modified git.submodules file with my ssh login modifications. That leads to merge-conflicts with upstream.

I think submodules are a royal pain.

Also my submodules are always in "detached HEAD" state what a nightmare.

I had a problem with pnes nestopia core repository which is now fixed on github, but it's not the only problem. I do personally really like to manage it with submodules, which simplify a lot of things when you're working alone. But for a forked project, i didn't think to that yet, it could probably be painful yes. We'll take a closer look together on discord.
