Hi guys; I recently got a Dreamshell SD reader off of ebay to try out homebrew, games, etc. etc. But as the title suggests, I'm having problems almost immediately after setting it up.

I started off with a FAT32-formatted 16GB SD to begin with - put the neccesary files on it and all that stuff, however a few moments after booting up the disc the screen freezes for a brief moment, then returns an error stating it "Can't init filesystem"...
It's worth noting the SD reader does seem to be somewhat responsive, as I can see a solid blue LED light up just on the top of it until the moment it throws the error, then it turns off again. (and trying to re-init the reader by pressing A makes it light up again, then fail again, and so forth..)

Naturally I imagined it was just a case of an unsupported SD, but after repeating the very same process with at least 7 different cards of varying sizes and classes (some 2GB, some 4GB) it always results in the same message, leading me to think it's a problem with the reader... I've also tried some cards formatted to just regular FAT and still have issues. :/

Does anyone else think this could be the case?

The "can't ini. sys."-thing is a thing...I googled it and it happens, but there seems to be a few solutions....looks like you need to do some physical fuckery to bend some pins.

Hmm, alright well I grabbed a paperclip and lightly poked each pin into shape one by one exactly like the dude in that video did, but I'm afraid it's still having trouble... :(
It could potentially just be a fault with the wiring or something, methinks. But honestly, at this rate, I think I would rather just get the 15 quid back that I spent on it and try a different brand reader.

Edit: Contacted the seller; gonna try for a replacement first and if that one doesn't work either, I'm just sending both back and getting a refund.
