This handy tip was posted by a user on reddit so credits goes to him.

If you have a Nand backup stored you can place it in a zip/rar file and it will basically shave off all the blank data you backed up.
I used 7zip and compressed my nand backup files from 32GB to 614MB. My Nand backup is from a Virgin NSW.
If you have games installed with your Nand backup your compressed size may not be less.
Most of you probably already know this but this may be handy for some users. Having a smaller file makes it easier to store in multiple places without using to much storage.

Welcome to the early 2000s. There's this.new program called WinZip..it compresses files to.make them smaller.

So cool...
Early 2000's? You're joking right? Or is that just when you discovered it? File compression has been around for decades since the early DOS days of the late 70s

Also, you don't need to backup the whole 32GB. As long as you don't care about losing user data, you can recover from a brick with just the boot0/1 and SYS partitions (no USER partition needed). This will compress down to 1.3GB. Upload that to Google Drive.
