Ahhhh sorry 'bout that, mentioned Dev menu because the certs have been banned for most of the downloaders so not alot of point to use them anymore.
So is there a way? I'd like to know this as well because it's just a forced SD card download

I mean you can use your own cert for it I believe, but the problem with that is you'll also get banned from Nintendo, not just from eShop and online play.

But from any type of online activity, game updates and system updates to be exact. And that just sucks.

So using my own cert will allow me to download it to internal storage? Seems weird

Just so you know, using an type of CDN downloader using your own cert is a bad idea.

Reason being if you do Nintendo will probably ban it meaning you won't be able to download game updates, system updates, etc... Complete ban.
Bah, complete ban, don't you know there will likely be other ways to bypass Nintendos security, it's not like Microsoft but then again Microsoft allows homebrew like retroarch on Xbox one, while Nintendo on the other hand doesn't.

It will be a cat and mouse game, you will say oh no you will get a complete ban but the way I see it as time goes on, hacking companies will want in on this and come and make backdoors into Nintendo's screw ups and make money off of consumers by making backdoors to Nintendo's eshop, also you can't ban a Switch from connecting online, just online to Nintendo's server, that would actually be illegal if they made it so the switch can only be online when Nintendo wants it to be.

I would say the very fact that Nintendo Switch is not USB C compliant is illegal in and of itself and eventually that is gonna get them, whether there a big corporation or not, times are changing.

Yes, there will most likely be ways around it like a freeShop-ish method, but here's the problem with it. The 3DS version of it was possible because Nintendo didn't make the console submit any unique key to identify whose downloading what so pirates could get away with it.

The problem with doing that on the Switch is that as we've seen, Nintendo will ban any CDN cert that's going to town downloading a bunch of stuff, and while using publicly shared certs won't get you banned. They will be banned very quickly and then a new one will need to be shared, so how many people are actually fine with getting CDN banned. So unless your privately hosting all the files on a server and letting people download it that way it won't be easily feasible. And even then the server will definitely get DMCA'd.

So it's still not worth it when you have to find the updates in addition to the actual game just to enjoy them imo. But you do you.

I thought they would try, but after the whole Tegra debauchle, I wasn't sure if they had succeeded.

I mean the exploit doesn't have to do with downloading games, I believe it had to do with something similar to magnethax for the 3DS for the Switch so you could put it into RCM mode which lets you send payloads which mess with the bootrom yadda yadda gives you access to stuff.

Nintendo controls the servers in whole so no exploit unless they literally hack into the CDN servers but that would definitely break some laws and get pretty dangerous.
