  • Saw "Adolescence of Utena" movie in theaters the other day, and finally finished reading the manga fully which had the same story albeit a bit different.

My understanding of Revolutionary Girl Utena is that I thought it had more to do with war/military school/more machinery based on what little knowledge I had of it. I could not have been farther from the truth, and SPOILERS for those who would eventually check it out for themselves.

For those who don't wanna be spoiled, the tl:dr is that the stories are basically the same with a different setting/font. Also the movie justifies itself being a movie by giving the viewers whiplash by finishing the general final plot point, and then doing some nonsensical stuff that you have to watch to understand my emotions. Just search up "Adolescence of Utena car wash scene". Should be like 7min on Youtube and it'll be cutting out mid points, but the initial confusion and more will be there. This is a story that could've ended right there with a credits scene and slow-mo, but they put a decent amount of effort into that entire end sequence for kicks.

The story is pretty simple for both the manga and the movie despite being different settings? The main girl "Utena", comes to the school acting like a prince as a result of her early life experience with a "prince" saving her. She acquires a ring giving her the status to fight for the "Rose Bride"( the other main character ). Utena engages in duels with the other members holding the rose rings, but remains victorious through chosen one compatibility. Some stuff happens with the acting headmaster, and that's pretty much it. She doesn't desire the power the "Rose Bride" provides, but she desires Anthy(Rose Bride) to be her friend.
A friend has been hitting me up to play DangaRompa[CAUTION:Graphic Game], (Slight Spoilers) for some time now, just got to the second exec..., and although the murders were expected, the first exec was pushing it for my visual stomach. Second one was comical visually so didn't feel as rough watching it.

Enjoying the story/gameplay, but the visuals for the first exec gave me similar feelings to reading Berserk and "Though you may burn to ash", very graphic and very heavy warnings to those who choose to read them

    He's ominous for sure. 😨
Playing Monster Hunter Wilds and damn, I was also getting this odd "this [monster] cannot be hunted at this time" and the new handler girl said something about not having permission or something. Proceeded to hunt it anyway and carve it up. Not sure what that was about.

I only got up to Uth Duna, but that was the first time so far that I was really hyped the entire time this game, the first storm fight was cool too, but the whole Uth Duna fight was cool and the cinematic was definitely worth a watch as well if it crashes for you.

I think I've largely got it under control. I believe DLSS was a part of the crashing for me, so I've sacked off some frames and got a stable ultrawide 1440p at 30fps with some solid looking graphics. I think I just got to High Rank myself, super fun game despite the issues.

Slick that you got it working, DLSS has been the cause for me crashing in others games randomly after updates so its nice when that's the only issue to fix. I'll probably start playing again tomorrow, weekends suck for me.
Played Nuclear Nightmare with a friend's group for the first time, was quite nice seeing new player's reactions to the wonderful world. A bit of liquid fun to keep the night alive, hope the people on here are having a good night ^_^
Honey Jack Daniels and Coke, despite having work tomorrow, makes the world go by a little easier, also started Ghost Recon Wildlands with 2 friends, kinda lets me enjoy the old fantasy I had of Just Cause 2 actually having a multiplayer campaign just with more emphasis on the gunplay.
Any of y'all play War Thunder? I've been sinking an unhealthy amount into it rather than playing actual games that I've wanted to beat T-T

It's a good game, but a time sink and definitely a money hole for those who can't take the grind.
Hmm, is it possible to play a game to just pass time? Not having the time to really enjoy a game, but also nothing to do for the hour or so.

i mean i do it sometimes because if i don't do something i'll go even more crazy than i already am, but i usually get extremely bored and just end up having a bad "session"

Agreed, I'll end up just playing a game of Siege or something, or play something that I've played a ton before, and it's not like it's not enjoyable, but I don't get the same satisfaction since I want to try something new.

I use timekiller games for those, like puzzle games and hidden objects.

is thinking about just how easy it is to ask people out to have fun( in my head, after the fact, hours later from what could've been )
You ever just build a snowman? And it actually turns out pretty okay
Finally back from vacation, been two weeks so haven't been able to do much online, though that's probably for the best? To live a little?
Up late, worked later, come home and just sit for a bit; but is that enough? Shouldn't I be trying to enjoy myself?
Hmmm, don't even know, just empty feelings about anything that I would usually want to do. Wonder why..
Nighttime, a serene time of the day, where it's just you, and your favorite body-long pillow in your arms keeping you warm...
