Pokemon Let's Go will have specific requirements in order to fight Gym Leaders

tQY1AgH.png

Since the announcement of Pokemon Let's Go: Eevee and Pikachu, fans have been debating and contesting a lot of the changes this spinoff entry seems to be making. From the Pokemon Go integration, to the new way to capture Pokemon, and more, there's been no doubt that this game is trying to differentiate itself from the mainline titles. Now, according to a new update post on the Japanese Pokemon site, there's a new feature in regards to Gym Battles. Now, players can only pass when they meet set requirements. These range from having a certain Pokemon type, level, and other specifications.

It's not entirely explained if you only have to show these types of Pokemon to get through the door, or if you need to keep the Pokemon in your party throughout the Gym fight. But it certainly is a shake-up to the formula that could potentially get in the way of beloved Nuzlockes and other self-imposed challenges, like monotype runs. We'll be sure to keep you updated if more information is announced.

Again, i am not accusing nintendo of copying, i am saying it's a clone, did the ds and 3ds have touch screen on the "game" screen ? No, did the ds have motion control ? When did it ever have one ? It doesn't even have motion sensors. Nintendo doesn't do realistic games ? Because realistic games are too heavy on the console releasing 6 years after the ps3 kek.
3ds had a touch screen and any touchscreen focused games game screen were the bottom one only games that barely used the touchscreen made the upper screen the game screen and left the botton one for item management, not that it matters the 3ds had a touchscreen and motions way before the vita existed so no idea why switch is a vita clone when vita did nothing original and i mean nothing, vita was a bigger flop than wiiu...

nintendo doesnt do realistic games by choice... if you look at metroid games you can see if they want they can make them amazing, but nintendo doesnt like making games like that thats why it prefers to do other graphical styles really, realistic looking doesnt make a game have better graphics.

also the switch is selling preety damn well it already isnt a flop lol so no idea why you think it will be a flop when it already passed the flop range.

Pokemon games have almost always been easy.
Well, yeah, true. The difference between the other games and this one is that the game requires you to go the easiest path possible. You could give yourself more challeng by using different types that put yourself in disadvantage, but now it's just really easy peey 100%. Gladly i think you will still be able to do nuzlocke, which could help in the difficulty.

well if they require you to have a certain pokemon type at a certain level to acess a gym nuzlocks will most likely fail.

Not necessarily, but careful planning will have to be done in advance so that you know the route that has the highest chance of getting the Pokemon you need. There is still an element of luck though and a run can easily be ruined.

That's what i said, nintendo goes for cartoonish style graphics, also switch is already a flop because all the ports are cheaper on better platforms, and also released and not delayed like always.

flop is about sales, doesnt matter what you think, the fact is its selling therefore not a flop, what your personal believes think don't make it a flop only numbers do and numbers are doing really well.

vita is alive but its selling tiny amount of units... and very few games come out on it even worse than the 3ds, 3ds is still destroying vita ass by a huge margin in japan alone...

you can even check the numbers of japan right here on gbatemp
https://gbatemp.net/threads/media-create-sales-japan-top-20-week-28-2018.511824/

as you see lifetime sales in japan alone
vita 5.901.958
3ds 24.116.691

its not even a contest...

also vita is selling around 4000 a week and switch has been selling 50000 a week so yeah it wont even take 2 years for the switch to surpass psvita lifetime salles...

Why do games do this, seriously? People were able to play the Gameboy games. Why do game developers seem to think children of today are stupider than in the 90s? Children of today have many more expectations in school. Now more than ever, children are interacting with technology. By middle school they instinctively know how to use a computer and whatnot. Why is it that game developers don't understand that, and implement these arbitrary "tests of skill"?

It most likely wasn't the developers, the shareholders often demand stuff like this because they're afraid anything deemed too challenging could bring poor ratings and poor sales, if i recall there was another game a few years ago on pc with a similar problem where the devs didn't want add forced tutorials but the funders wanted them.

I never said the vita is better than 3ds, the 3ds is still being made in the west, the vita is not, no games come out for vita because the entire market is on japan with japanese visual novels or jrpgs, which no one wants to localize. It was never a contest.

Hackers do what nintendon't

(I hope... there still isn't a decent map/script editor for gen 6, and the only thing that gets pumped out is lame difficulty hacks)
yea... no...
I doubt hacker can modify that deeply into roms hacking

Removing a character, or at least making him not push you back, is a relatively simple change... provided the script format is documented, as is the case for the golden-age-of-hacks gen 3, and to a slightly lesser extent the previous ones (dunno about the DS ones lol)
