One thing I will note about my Ezflash Omega that was having freezing issues in my European GBA SP 001 is that when I launched the .gba file to flash the firmware its said something like v004 -> v100.
I played about 45 mins of Advance Wars 2 last night with no freezes with these latest files.
I'll let you know if I get any more freezing.
EDIT: Played it some more today. No freezing so far. No save corruption as of yet. Played Advance wars 2 for about 2 hours. Sigma Star Saga for about an hour, no issues.
Using a Third Party battery I robbed from a handheld famiclone, so only get about 3 hours of play on a GBA SP 001 with the backlight on and the Omega cart running. Usually get 5 hours with a cart. (But I'd take stability over battery life anyday)

Just wanted to confirm that the omega is now capable of saving on my EUROPEAN AGS 101.

So yeah good work! I can finally actually use the card.

Little question out of curiosity: what was the problem now?

EUR AGS-101 uses different logical timing sequences.

I was having the problem where it freezes after 30 minutes.
I tried with the new kernel/firmware and I was able to play Pokemon Emerald (USA) on an AGS-101 (USA) for over an hour with no freezing.

Thank you for your hard work on this!

bump, new T2 version update

What does it improves/fix?

My bad found it:

Power consumption optimized
Added an option in the system menu to disable in-game RTC module which can save more power

Also another question:

Many people have asked before but do you know the reason why the internal clock lags behind more and more after a while???

The crystal oscillator of OMEGA will be jammered by the electric leak if used on some GBA model which modified the backlit

He's probably aiming at the agb-001 model modded with an ags-101 screen and a third party ribbon cable. But yeah, can confirm that RTC lags behind after a while on an official non-modded backlight gba-sp ags-101 model. Still truly grateful for all the fixes! Atleast i can use it normally now. Fixing the RTC would be the cherry on top.

Yeah but like you said and I said it still happens with an unmodified console.

Well, it seems the 1.03t5 version finally works fine.
I was having freezes like 80% of the time with v3 and v4 (1.01 and 1.02), and with this, everything is fine. Not a single freeze in over 10 games played on my DS Lite.

1. Game console type

AGB-001 C/AGB-JPN. Modified with GBA-SP AGS-001 screen (with 3rd party adapter cable).

2. Firmware version

99

3. Kernel version

1.03t2

4. MicroSD type

Apacer 8GB class 10 microSDHC

5. MicroSD format

FAT32

6. MicroSD cluster size or allocation unit size

32kb (formatted by SD formatter tool)

7. Bug description

Inconsistent as to whether saving will work or not.

Saving worked the first time after flashing the 1.03t2 kernel, and I assumed it was totally fixed - however saving is still inconsistent - sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. 1.02, 1.03t2, firmware 4 or 99 all show this behaviour. It's probably similar to the EU GBA issue.

8. Bug reproduce steps (This is very important, only the reproducible bug can be fixed quickly.)

Power on, load riviera with clean boot, game start, skip until save prompt, attempt to save. Either will work or throw a 'Save Failed' error. On a fresh power on, previous saves may or may not load - the files exist in the SAVED directory.

I'm always using hard power off/on btw, not any in-game reset.

Use an AGB-001 modded with backlit, run as your procedure.

I guess one weird thing with my system is that it's an C/AGB-JPN console modded with a C/AGS-AUS screen. Not sure if that changes timings etc.

Still happens on the 1.03T3 kernel.

I think it is the mod which caused the issue. electric leak jamming. because you can save properly sometimes.
If you are not afraid of trouble, can you replace it with the original screen and try again?

Hello !

I met an issue with Top Gear Rally and the last Kernel update (T3). Can't load any race anymore when using BOOT WITH ADDON mode. Everything works fine with my other 20+ games though.

1. Game console type: Game Boy Micro OXY-001 Famicom Edition
2. Firmware version: 5 (displayed 99 in menu)
3. Kernel version: T3
4. MicroSD type: Samsung Pro 32Go (gray one) 90MB/s read 80MB/s write UHS-I Class 3
5. MicroSD format: FAT32
6. MicroSD cluster size or allocation unit size: 32K
7. Bug description: Can't launch any race on Top Gear Rally (U) anymore with T3 kernel in BOOT WITH ADDON mode (worked fine with T2 kernel before though)
8. Bug reproduce steps:
- Launch Top Gear Rally (U) with BOOT WITH ADDON mode (here Save, Reset and Sleep functions activated)
- Launch the 1st Championship track (some other races may launch but will quickly crash right after for most of them)
- Notice that the game crashes (black screen and sometimes weird sound can be heard)

1. Game console type: Game Boy Micro OXY-001 Famicom Edition
2. Firmware version: 5 (displayed 99 in menu)
3. Kernel version: T3
4. MicroSD type: Samsung Pro 32Go (gray one) 90MB/s read 80MB/s write UHS-I Class 3
5. MicroSD format: FAT32
6. MicroSD cluster size or allocation unit size: 32K
7. Bug description: RTS saved previously with T2 kernel does not work anymore with T3 in some games
8. Bug reproduce steps:
- Launch Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure with BOOT WITH ADDON mode (here Save, Reset and Sleep functions activated)
- Try to load a RTS that was saved previously under T2 kernel
- Notice that the state is broken

1. Game console type: Game Boy Micro OXY-001 Famicom Edition
2. Firmware version: 5 (displayed 99 in menu)
3. Kernel version: T2 (can't be tested on T3 due to 1st bug above)
4. MicroSD type: Samsung Pro 32Go (gray one) 90MB/s read 80MB/s write UHS-I Class 3
5. MicroSD format: FAT32
6. MicroSD cluster size or allocation unit size: 32K
7. Bug description: Omega menu breaks the ingame display in some games as Top Gear Rally
8. Bug reproduce steps:
- Launch Top Gear Rally with BOOT WITH ADDON mode (here Save, Reset and Sleep functions activated)
- Display the Omega menu with L + R + Start
- Exit this menu
- Notice that the display is now broken
Note: Seems to be here a context loss. On a SuperCard MiniSD, the context is lost as well if trying to load a save (created during a race) outside a race because the "3D" engine has not been initialized yet but works fine if the save is loaded after the game engine is initialized through a race on the SuperCard. May be a lead to explore.

Scrolling file name is a nice addition in T3 kernel BTW. :)

I would like to add some suggestions as well (I know some of them would require some time to develop):
- allow to delete/copy/cut/paste and rename files and folders
- allow to delete a game in NOR Flash memory even if it's not the last one (maybe it's impossible due to limitations of memory addressing of this kind of Flash, don't know). Because writing games to NOR Flash memory (which is long, about 1Mbit per second) becomes quite useless over launching them directly from PSRAM (very fast as well).

Other than that, it's really a great piece of hardware, the performance is awesome (like on a real cartridge) and loading times are soooo faaaaaast. It's really nice to see a few guys still developping a good Everdrive in 2018 for the "old" GBA. :)
