All 500gb ps4 slim black or white will be on 4.73 or 5.05 as they stopped making them .... EVERYONE is trading in their ps4 slim for a ps4 pro so Sony are only focused on the pro only.

this is why in the last 2 weeks I have seen the standard price of $439 aud go to $379 and now this thursday it is going to be $339 for all ps4 slim 500gb

they are trying to get rid of them now .. people are only interested in the new pro model 4k

5.50 has been exploited but not releases to public yet because there are a few new games coming out next few weeks that will have 5.50 update forced so people will have to update firmware to play ..when this happens then we shall see 5.50 exploit ..

I do not have a 4k tv either .. and the store I plan on buying the ps4 500 slim for are out of stock at moment and getting more in this thursday. I bet they are on 4.73 and will report back with photos to show the serial number and the cuh code as well... also the fact the big w stores here in Australia allow 10 days return policy for change of mind on all electrical products ..

anyone In Australia go to big w this thursday and grab a pro model for $499 .. worse case you get stuck with 5.50 and simply can return it aslong as you are careful when opening it all up so it can be put back on shelves and resold.

big w online you can buy various bundles etc and the pro ... big w have a massive warehouse so they should have older stock compared to say jb hi fo or ebay etc.

anyhow will report back on thursday ..

Maybe everyone you know is upgrading to pro, but the slims outsell them by a huge margin. I don't see how Sony is only focused on the pro either, the whole idea for the pro was so that they didn't lose so many of the high value customers to pc later in the gen.

that's really weird.. in Europe it's like the other way around. there have been multiple PRO offers recently with prices as low as €300ish while the SLIM sits at €250+

the 500gb slim is not popular because you can get the 1tb for almost the same price in most countries now .. and people are also trading in their 500gb and 1tb to get the pro as well ..

I have seen a price drop in last 3 weeks of the 500gb slim here .. $439 - $419 - $389 - $339

the reason for price drop is lack of sales of the 500gb model .. sony have been making more 1tb and pro versions...

this is why any 500gb slim you buy right now will have 5.07 or lower .. you will not see any 500gb slim new with 5.50 even the new days of play 500gb blue colored slim comes with 5.07 ..

it would cost to much man power and $$$ for sony to go thru all the 500gb stock and update the firmware just because of the 5.05 exploit ..

most people live under a rock and have no clue that certain ps4 can be modded .. but once word gets around then sales of all ps4 will increase and will drive up prices ..

you only have to look at ebay with unopened old console bundles selling for $700-800

some people are asking 1000 in some cases for a new pro model with 5.05 ...

I do not have a 4k so opting for the 500gb slim .. going to buy one on thursday .. and will report back with photos etc to show it's under 5.07

the people who are chasing after a pro ps4 under 5.05 ... your only chances are getting really old stock with older games advertised on the back or somehow getting an old bundle pack .. or a 2nd hand unit ..

or you can just stick with a standard slim model like I will be doing ...

Where in Australia are you from? The 500gb slims were going for $279 a few weeks back from amazon au. Where are you planning on buying the 500 gb slim this Thursday? Please keep us updated on what firmware you get.

So what were you saying about big w's return policy? I'm a little sceptical that they'd take an ps4 that's box has been opened.

Yes. However, I bought (and returned) a PS4 Pro from JB Hi-Fi with the same box and it came with 5.50. The boxes don't seem to be sealed in any real sense.

just want to confirm the 500gb slim at big w in Australia are on 5.03 here's photos:

they also have pro models for $519 but someone told me they got one couple days ago and it has advertised:

Horizon Zero Dawn

firmware 5.50

if you can ask staff at the store to look for a pro model out the back without horizon advertised then you might get lucky with something under 5.05

I just purchased a 1tb pro with Horizon Zero Dawn as one of the feature games on the back of the box.
Sadly it was 5.50. Will put big w's return policy to the test in the morning.
Not sure what if I'll try my luck again. The bundles pros are hard to find now, will probably just grab a slim.

So just bought a pro 1tb (no bundle) from Argos UK in store, came with 5.50 which sucks so it’s being returned later today
Any other UK peeps give me a suggestion to find a pro below 5.0.5?!

So I took my 5.50 pro model back to Big W, exchanged for a 500gb white slim and 4.73.

I've now purchased two 500gb white consoles from Big W this week, both with 4.73.

My plan is to grab a pro model once a 5.05+ hack is released. Too hard to find a low fw pro unfortunately.

No problem whatsoever, I just said I bought the wrong one and realised my TV didn't support HDR (Lying of course!) all they did was check the contents were all there in re-sell able condition and then gave me the refund no questions asked

Cool.
Well I've reserved the silver PS4 bundle fingers crossed it's on 5.05 or less.
Would be nice to know if anyone else got this bundle which version they got.
