Umm, your title is very misleading.

An icon for a game that 1) has no reason not to be on the console, 2) the CEO expressed interest in developing the game, 3) was leaked in an E3 schedule, 4) a game ratings board released the rating for the game, and now 5) was discovered on the official digital store. Misleading, huh.
Still, not officially revealed.. Let alone confirmed..

I don't think this will sell many Switches but I could be wrong.

I'm not excited about it because I am already over fortnite. I am curious how well it will run as the fortnite canvass is obsessed with frame rate and such. Could be interesting.

Exactly the fact that is on the Nintendo servers is confirmation enough, I don't know what elsehewants.

You mean like a legitimate, playable leak? Haven't heard of one stalling or delaying a release yet..
If the game is leaked, it doesn’t make the same smash (no pun intended) the game would make if no one knew a thing. People would die to get the game, especially if the release is close after the announcement day. If people know about the game in advance, then the smash is reduced, which means consumers reduced, which means profits reduced. Less people will hear about the game due to less media coverage, and the devs won’t make as much money, which would lead the devs to feel a need to delay the release and add more content or something unexpected, or not release the game at all.

Now to be fair, there is still one other possibility, though unlikely. It was a placeholder on Nintendo’s servers, so just in case Epic Games did apply for release, Nintendo would have a spot ready. Again, that’s only like a 3% chance I’d say but still.

It hasn't been confirmed by nintendo and when you say "officially confirmed" you are saying that it has been publicly announced by someone. That hasn't technically happened yet.

The title should be "Fornite icon for nintendo eshop all but officially confirms the game for the switch"

Lol people saying it isnt confirmed, why would nintendo make a new title id and put an icon for fortnight on it?...

seriously the moment something ends up on nintendo servers its about to be released, and no nintendo would not randomly make icons of other peoples games and put it on their own servers, not only would it be ilegal and nonsence.

It wouldn't be illegal. They aren't displaying or advertising it. Techincally datamining their servers would come closer to being legal than them having a placeholder.

A PS1 game has an episode of South Park on the disc as space holder. They didn't get permission either. Crazy things happen.

My older nephew have an xbox one and played this game. I saw it and said to myself.. Wow, bored and I disliked it.

Anyway, he stopped playing it as well. Oh well. By the way, great for Nintendo Switch fan who always wants this game ported to Nintendo Switch from XBOX one. Congratulations.

srs nintendo is not a random ass developer, hey have their own hardware, they are not gonna make icons for other peoples games and put them on their own servers.

your point doesn't make sense, a random dev putted that there without anyone approval approval and the studio never knew about it until they were charged with legal stuff to remove the game, and no one knew it was there or they wouldn't have produced the discs... the only way to even see the episode is to get the iso itself and decode it to see the file.

for something to be on nintendo servers it needs permissions from several people, one employer cant just randomly send anything to the e shop servers without aprovals, also is that so hard to believe the game is gonna be revealed at e3 6 days so they are already uploading the files? because they will say for sure the game will be available after this presentation like they did numerous announcements before.

If you're going to sell something on the eShop absolutely. What you don't seem to ubdedstand is that there is an admin who could have put this on there for any number of reasons including release. It's not like they found the actual game on there. The ESHOP is a database and databases can be edited fairly easily.

I'm not saying it won't be released. I'm sure it will be. The Switch is literally the last thing that can play games that doesn't have it. I'm saying it hasn't been officially announced.

Nobody is saying it's not confirmed. Just that there's been no "official" announcement..

highly doubt any admin can just add whatever he wants to e shop without any supervision, stuff doesn't work like that nowadays, we are not in the 90s, not to mention by now epic games or nintendo would have said something on their social networks saying otherwise, they always negate when its not true.
