So I bought a new switch strictly for homebrew use in the future. I turned it on, went through initial setup without going online, checked the firmware which is version 4.1.0, and then I updated the attached joy-cons. I powered it off and put it back in the box until the day comes when CFW is ready for use. Again, I did not connect to any networks during the setup process. Afterwards, I wondered if updating the attached joy-cons may have been a mistake that would interfere with hacking it later. I don't think so but I'm curious if anyone knows for sure. Thoughts?

No..... It is clearly stated that Fusee Gelee and other RCM exploits can't be patched by software updates, read the FAQ before asking questions.

The joycons have no part in any of it. Just the pins on the console side.

If you update the controllers, its fine. They're the sole thing that could probably BENEFIT from updates...
mine do weird stuff sometimes, okay? I should buy some new ones soon lol
