I've seen many videos online, DO NOT REBALL.
do you even know why some people do that?
Because when the CPU die, the heating from 120 c will fix the CPU temporary, however reballing will require more than 160 c to melt the connectors.
Applying that much heat to the CPU will cause problems in the future.

The solder underneath the CPU is poor lead free which causes the ylod a reball properly will fix it

I still don't recommend doing that, better yet is installing new cooling system to the PS3 if you know how to cut and know the parts.

What I recommend is using a good top performance silver thermal paste for PC and properly configuring the dynamic fan settings in webman depending on location in the planet.

The stock cooling system in the SLIM model works good enough to keep the system under 60 C at all times. My webman config is dynamic control with max at 58 C and usually the system runs at full CPU 56 RSX 53 and idles at CPU 53 RSX 50. The thermal paste used is the CoolerMaster MasterGel Maker and works like a charm. It goes around 12$ and its one of the best pastes all around.

that's also good, anything but the reballing.

might be a stupid question, but using rebug 4.82.1 REX, how do i get to the place to change the fan settings? Cuz i got a temp warning the other day and my console was burning hot and it felt like the fan was bairly spinning.

(i dont use multiman or webman or whatever. my games are installed as .pkg files for simplicity cuz the console is for my 7 year old lmao)

the only other game i noticed my PS3 fan is when i played the last of us in 2013 i think
i have PS3 slim

i recently installed CFW rebug 4.8.1 cobra on it, now many games sometimes i hear the fan from my PS3

is it because the CFW?
if it's a fat it makes loud noises right out of the box:rofl2:
seriously sony fans are garbage they use garbage parts in all their products
just replaced the fan on my vaio haswell ultrabook for the 4th time last month and it is already failing again
probably won't last another few weeks

woah im not into the ps3 scene but cool that i guessed it right

It's true for pretty much anything electronics wise.
The lower the temperatures, or well as close to the ambient temperature, the better.

Yes, some specialized equipment use high temperatures but it's all regulated.
Consoles and other electronic devices preform a lot better when you keep the temperatures close to the ambient temp.

My slim's never gotten very loud, but it does run fairly hot in general. Compared to my Falcon JTAG, it's like a whole nother world. I don't mess with the fan settings on the PS3, I keep th e 360 on 100%., thankfully headphones exist.

You change it via webman.
