Had a little bash on this last night - I thought it was pretty good. NO it's not Cubase and NO it's not like playing a real guitar. It's more like Dance Dance Revoultion with a unique input device.

Wow I can't believe all the people talking crap about this like it's supposed to be the DS version of Guitar Hero. You guys are missing the point completely. This is a tool to be treated as such, not a game with scores and a story mode (story mode? wtf?).

I've been tooling around with this since last night and I've already learned a couple of the songs that are supplied by being familiar with them and using the guides (if you look you can enable a guide that tells you how long to hold strums - though it's still no substitute for being familiar with the song when learning to play it, IMO). You have to either know or be willing to learn the concept of strum patterns and once you do you'll be able to write endless amounts of music, without having to actually learn how to play the guitar.

If you want to get the most out of this find a song you like and then Google the tabs for it, assemble a chord palette and try to learn how to play it. I've taught myself a handful of songs from my mp3 collection and it's great fun. I'm practicing singing and playing at the same time so I can start writing my own songs. It's a fun, easy way to make music without having to put a lot of effort in. This is most definitely NOT a game... If you bought/DLed it thinking it was, then I'm sorry you're disappointed, but jeez try to see how this can be useful to people who know how to take advantage of it.

This is pretty cool, I've been tinkering with it for a while, free play is pretty cool. Creating your own chord progressions and what not is pretty easy.

Argh, played this game and it actually cramps my hands a lot. I have never picked up a guitar before, well, actually I tried it in music class years ago but never got far with it.

Anyways, I looked at a bunch of tabs on the internet, changed the chord settings to what it says and trying to play it sounds a lot different than I imagined. Still, it's a decent thing to have on my flashcart

There are some weird problems with some of the chords. If you don't play guitar I might lose you here.

The C#m7 is awful. Take a listen.

The Em7 only adds the m7 on the upstroke and the down stroke is Em. Sounds very strange.

These are just a couple that I found trying to play one song. There are probably more.

I am going to record a song, probably on Saturday. I'll post it here.

!!!!!

To get the extra best Buy exclusive songs you gotta enter this code in free mode:

UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHTÂ
rolleyes.gif

That works if you're in right-handed mode. If you configured Jam Sessions to work left-handed then the code is:

X, X, B, B, Y, A, Y, A

Basically you enter the code using the chord buttons.

considering i play acoustic and electric already i find this amusing but it will not hold my interest (like guitar hero which i found only mildly challenging).

Daigasso is still my favorite music/rhythm game on DS (yes over ouenden). Using my DS as a midi device that plays all the instruments and has a full pro 8 track editor is better than poking and sliding or strumming my touch screen (IMO, IMO).

Daigasso gets no love and it pwns all. Nothing has ever given me the sensation of playing an actual instrument the way Daigasso has.

Sorry to vent there, carry on...
