Hacking Ps3Xploit - Now Install CFW from 4.82 OFW : NOR/NAND Software Flash Writer + NOR Dumper Released
so I placed a pickup order for a 250 ps3 slim will get it today I can see one of 2 things (well 3) happening which will screw things up 1) flat out refuse the sale due to the hack(I mean come on why get a 250 slim than say a 500 if it's only for gaming?) 2) not have updated the GS site as sold out for that store or 3 it's refurbed in a way by gamestop to be an unhackable 25x or even a 3x
I'm not sure I'll be able to boot 3.55 because I haven't toggled the QA flag yet.
Use the 4.82 no BD firmware in place of the 3.55 firm. The guide just walks you through the basic process that should fix the issue. If nothing else try patching a copy of OFW yourself with MFWbuilder.

That model is hit and miss already you may just get an unhackable unit. Not because it was modified by gamestop (they simply don't/can't do that.) But because it's just one with the new metldr2
I've tried using the no BD from the recovery menu and it just hangs at the Checking... stage.

I'd been trying with several firmware's and it kept getting stuck on "Checking... Please wait." so at this point I'd essentially given up on it working so I left to go out for the night, got back in later (A few hours) and it had finished checking, managed to install Overflow 4.82 NoBD

well i'll wait for the super slim hack got all my games off psn just gonna pull the plug on ps3 internet until something pops up
quick question after i supposibly bricke my friends 2k 20x model i did some digging the symptom is 3 beeps+ flashing red light when i looked on good old google a site said the HDD is bad so i took it out and it smells burnt up can it really be the hdd only (as in replacing/reflashing ofw 4.82 fix it) or is it gone for good
This is a fantastic exploit, is there anywhere online with some technical talk/insight into the background of the mod please?

Someone know the difference between Rex and rebug Lite?
I know it means lite is based on CEX only, and Rex based on CEX+DEX, and as 4.82 DEX is not available yet they did a quick CEX only release.
But I didn't find a quick info (without comparing both released pages) telling what's missing in lite compared to Rex.
Is it better to use the Rex 4.81 with syscon 4.82, or 4.82 Lite?

Rebug lite lacks all added debug features and doesn't have a built in version of webman but instead requires the standalone install. The lite version is comparable to all other cobra enabled 4.82 CFW. The difference between REX rebug and lite is pretty much the same as between 4.81.2 REX and ferrox 4.82
Basically, the vast majority of the settings in the Toolbox and Rebug Settings are unavailable.
In fairness, the vast majority of these are of no use to end users. I pretty much only stick with DEX because I need the fake save owner feature.
You don't need DEX for that. It works in CEX mode. Just need to activate the setting in the debug settings menu and make sure you are set to rebut mode. I forget if there is another option or not that needs to be changed. Xmb behavior or something maybe. It should be set to debug if I remember correctly but its been forever since I last set that up
Really? I couldn't find even find the option to enable Debug Settings in the toolbox when using Lite.

you must install Lite on CEX, and not get them.
you can install REX on CEX, and get DEX features.
so, maybe he said you don't need a DEX console because you can install REX on CEX and get that settings.
