it worked, i think
the guide said it create a file on this path
/dev_usb000/idps.bin

however i found the file idps.bin on the root of the flashcard, it's 16 bytes file.
that is interesting....we have only tested from far right (usb000)

what model do you have?

how to you host your own server?
i am trying on my PS3 for several hours and can't manage to get it to work.
Sorry for the late answer, busy with life haha, you should see in the readme 2 links for setups (one for python 2.7.14 and one for capstone), install both of them, drag the zip contents into the python folder and execute server.py.
If everything is working as it should, you should see a python console that is saying "Starting server on <IP>:<port>.
If you see that, go to your PS3's browser and type in the URL bar your IP and port. @aos10

@esc0rtd3w
I read the overview of the future hack to be released next year.
I just need a quick confirmation before i commit to purchasing a system for the future.

You said that the flash on consoles up to 250x are guaranteed to be writable.
Does that include 250x consoles as writable?
Thanks.

2 quick questions (cause I'm a PS3 n00b):
1. Do I have to set up DNS to block updates?
2. I have a phat PS3. Which usb slot is usb000?

Thanx :)

Hi, i tried it on my rebug 4.81 2508B slim (dont have any other ps3). It got to the idps has been saved to usb00. But my ps3 froze and did not switch off with beep. File was not there in the usb also. Tried a couple of times. 16gb Usb drive is fat32 formatted and is one the right port.

This does not work on cfw 4.81?

alternatively, you can use multiman to get the ipds since you're already on rebug. you may have to enable cfw mode in multiman since it has two different modes. one of those will not show the idps.

Hey!

Trying on my PS3 Phat, A01, 4 USB, 60Gb Model, and running into an issue. The server runs, everything works up until I try to dump the file. The server just says the same 3 lines over and over again, like so:

192.168.1.67 - - [14/Nov/2017 20:55:45] "GET /html/include/utils.js HTTP/1.1" 200 -
192.168.1.67 - - [14/Nov/2017 20:55:45] "GET /html/include/exp_rel.js HTTP/1.1" 200 -
192.168.1.67 - - [14/Nov/2017 20:55:52] "GET /html/idps_nand.html HTTP/1.1" 200 -
192.168.1.67 - - [14/Nov/2017 20:55:52] "GET /html/include/utils.js HTTP/1.1" 200 -
192.168.1.67 - - [14/Nov/2017 20:55:52] "GET /html/include/exp_rel.js HTTP/1.1" 200 -
192.168.1.67 - - [14/Nov/2017 20:55:59] "GET /html/idps_nand.html HTTP/1.1" 200 -
192.168.1.67 - - [14/Nov/2017 20:55:59] "GET /html/include/utils.js HTTP/1.1" 200 -
192.168.1.67 - - [14/Nov/2017 20:55:59] "GET /html/include/exp_rel.js HTTP/1.1" 200 -

etc., etc.,

The page on the PS3 refreshes, and every now and then I get the error:

"The string variable named usb_fp_rosdump could not be located in range 0x801800000 - 0x80278000"

Then the screen goes white, but nothing happens on the server side.

I've tried USB Devices in all 4 of my USB ports, SD slot on the PS3, and none of them have done anything but blink at me.

Please let me know if there's something I'm missing, or what I can do to troubleshoot the issue.

Thanks!

Yes rebug 4.81 CEX. But it hangs. Everything works properly; the ps3 webpage page refreshes every 3 or 4 seconds and the command line scripts keep running properly. Takes about 6 mins and finally shows idps dumped to usb00 root. But at this ps3 is froze; no refreshing. Pressing power off gives 3 beeps then switches off; just like when ps3 hangs.

Its not that i want the idps; i can get it from my nor dump also. Its just that i wanted to try this way. I guess it works only on ofw??!!

Also just to note i am not a developer i have windows 10 64bit running. I had to install capstone for python 32bit and some visual c redistributable 32bit also to get the server running. 64bit packages of these did not work.

rename vsh.self.cexsp to vsh.self and vsh.self to vsh.self.dex if on DEX, in rebug toolbox under /dev_flash/vsh/module

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
