Im on CFW luma3ds updated to 11.6.0-39u. Homebrew launcher is v 1.1.0 and not working. What is the latest version of the homebrew launcher and how can I update? Thanks!

Have a stock 3DS, have not used/updated it in years. What is the best flashcard to buy (Gateway, QQ3DS, R4B9S, etc)?
I don't care about the price rather I care about the best quality, support and compatibility.

Hi! So atm the R4i GOLD works better than other flashcarts? I'm kind of noob to this in the way that up to this day I found out those exists... sry
I have my old 3DS updated to 11.6.0-39U, but I was reading some threads now so I'm more informed, now I know that flashcarts are my best option for homebrew and roms.
And if someone can direct me to some useful posts to "know hows", and if I need to update the flashcart's firmware often and where, would be appreciated.

Like a week ago the 3ds.guide had you download some other app instead of FBI, that when launched through Download Play would download and install all needed apps on the fly. Now the guide is back to having to you download those apps on your own, and use FBI to install them. Why? Should I not use that app? That app was so much easier to use and I still have it.

Are you talking about OCS? It was removed because it had bugs or something.

i'll ask again, seeing as nobody bothered to answer it earlier: Will CIAngel work properly on a 3DS that has been hacked via NH2(aka exploits such Ninjahax V2, browserhax, soundhax, OOT3Dhax, menuhax, or beaconhax) or no?

Also, does Anemone work with cakes and Corbenik as it does with Luma and Reinand?

I would have replied but I can't say for certain one way or another since I don't use HomeBrew launcher but it should work just fine; don't see why it wouldn't. Just try it out, the last release was in May so if you run into any bugs/crashes report them to the Github and they might be able to be fixed.

I should have asked why you need CIAngel to work on a system without CFW? You can't install CIAs without it. (Unless you're on 11.3, have a special version of FBI and only install "legit" CIAs). So what's your end goal with it? I don't even think it can install tickets without CFW just download them, so how would that help you?

when I updated to luma3ds 8.1.1 and FBI I ended up with 2 copies of lumaupdater and FBI. I was able to unistall the old version of the lumaupdater but for some reason the icon is still there. Is there a way to uninstall the old version of FBI? Cant seem to see the outdated version of FBI in the titles

It was removed because Plailect thought it hid too much from the user, leaving them clueless. ("How do I install CIAs?").
He also didn't like the fact that it wasn't written from scratch.

I never said I would like to install CIAngel without CFW on a 3DS. But, as can be seen from the wiki, how one hacks their 3DS, be it via Ninjahax1.0, Freakyhax, NH2, browserhax, menuhax, OOT3Dhax, beaconhax, or v*hax, Ironhax, or Doodlebomb, does have an effect on what CFW is compatible, among other things.

Hi everyone. Thanks for a great forum.

This is my first post, so pls go easy on me. I'm thinking of buying a portable games console for my little one and the odd occasion of game playing for myself. But I want to make sure the version I'm buying is fully hackable, i.e. for games, roms, homebrew etc.

I'm confused as to which one is currently the most popular choice for this. Can anyone please help so that I don't end up making a mistake?

Also please tell me if I'd be able to do a softmod or would I require hardware? Any other important requirements?

All versions are hackable. It's just that any version that's 11.4 or above will require you to buy extra hardware to hack it.

New 3DS XL would be most popular. New 2DS XL is the latest. For a child, a 2DS is best (difficult to break, also the cheapest).

Thanks quantum cat. To be honest I prefer the 3ds xl for it's larger size. My little one is very sensible and she'll take good care of it. I've just got off the phone with someone on classified ads and he's willing to sell it to me, but he's currently away from home at the pub and will call me within the next hour with details of the firmware.

If it's lower than 11.4, then what will I need to do?

If it's higher than 11.3, then what hardware would you recommend?

Also what other questions should I ask him about?

If it is on 11.3 or less, you can use SoundHax (unless the firmware is very low). On 11.4 or higher you'll need a compatible DS flashcart. All info you might need is at https://3ds.guide
