Gaming How to know if my Wii have a chip inside?

Hello guys im new here and having a wii

... i want to know if my wii have a mod chip (soldier) without insert a disc in disc channel... i searched in google and find nothing... i want to know because i readed that a modchip is bad to the wii taking to him a life of 1 or 2 years is that true?

Burn a small Wii .iso to DVD-R and see if it boots. If it does, you have a chipped Wii. No they don't shorten a console's life.

if its a white wii you can play dvd's without a chip, which one do you have?

if you hack it, you can burn backups and even play dvd's on it.

Thanks if this the only method to know that? i have a ps2 and gamecube and i can enter in the chip menu or something is not there an app for verify that? xD but always if it dont affect the console is allright!!

Yes i know i actually have dx2 cios last ver and usb loader gx but the question is more about the bad things that i've read about modchip. But if it doesnt affect the wii allright

The wii is amazing when hacked, it could be the most diverse system out there, there is everything on it, hundreds of awesome homebrews, you can dump your games to a external hard drive, wii and gamecube, and tons of vc and wiiware, and they have some great emulators. if you are interested, look up the definitive guide to wii hacking, everything you need should be on this site, and if you need any help, you can ask me, im a pro with wii hacking.

my bad, didn't know you had it hacked, but it probably isn't chipped, the white wii has no real need for a chip.

Thanks i'm going to read it! the only emulator that i have is mGBA it runs flawesly! and yes is the console most versatile that i have. It have the awesome WiiXplorer, Wiimc, nindendont and bunch of loaders. I bought it for play Skyward Sword but im doing with her more than i expected xD

genesis plus gx plays sega consoles up to sega cd, but not 32x, thats a good emulator also

Not all white Wiis can read burned discs. Only the first 2-3 batches can. The newer ones have a different drive controller that ignores non-pressed discs.
